I prefer solo camping too! I’ve been doing it regularly since 2011. I’ve going on my big annual camping trip out west next wednesday; I managed to get 9 days off work as my “personal days”. I already took my Vacation days this year; I went to Norway in May. I did some camping and hiking in the fjords there too! I like your channel; I have one too where I focus on the drive and scenery: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/mMd-kruq29HbpIk.htmlsi=VbEWu8PP1G0CwZFK

Hiking and camping in Norway would be cool! How did it compare to the inlets on the BC coastline? Similar? Or different in its own way?
@TransCanadaPhil
@TransCanadaPhil 5 күн бұрын
@@ExploringCanadaInfo the interesting thing about camping is Norway is they have this actual law there called the "right to roam". You're basically allowed to just wild camp anywhere; just pull off the main highway and plop your tent anywhere for free! As long as it's uncultivated land and stay at least 100m away from property. So you see random tents and vans just off the highway in the random turns-offs and layaways.

As a (mature, aka "junior senior" haha) solo female living in a tiny-home-on-wheels, I agree with everything you said...however.....you left out one very important reason we don't feel alone....we are NOT alone....you have two dogs....I have one dog and one cat....I love these two with ALL my heart as I'm sure you do your two. They're the BEST travel companions I could ask for. Also, the other important reason we don't feel lonely....the vanlife community is awesome.....even as an introvert, I have met and made lifelong connections with people living the vanlife (I'm in a skoolie but whatever). the bug screen thing is exactly what I'm looking for. Normally I just camp in a regular tent away from my car because I only drive a regular car (Hyundai Elantra 2022), but I've always been thinking that since my car does have a sunroof I could always keep that open for ventilation as long as I had some kind of bug screen. Then I might be able to configure the car to allow me to sleep in it if I folded down the backseats to expose the trunk area from within giving me a large flat area.

@@ExploringCanadaInfo its just a regular sedan. Hyundai Elantra 2022. But with the backseats folded down and the trunk open, it opens wide enough to become a quasi hatchback, that might work!

I'm a solo camper too from Winnipeg and I often drive out west and am always looking for new national and provincial parks to hike around in. I never knew about this one, it looks pretty good. I'm planning on driving out west and was going to check out the Cypress Hills Inter-provincial Park but I think i might check out this one first. I also like getting electrified sites even though I'm just a tenter, just so that I have a place to plug-in my electric cooler to keep stuff cool/refrigerated without having to worry about getting ice all the time.

Hi there! I'm going camping there for the first time soon and we have campsite 203. It's a walk-in site. Do you know how far away it is from the parking lot? Is it difficult to get there. We have a toddler and am trying to prepare for it. The person from the campground that I spoke to over the phone didn't know. Can i bring a wagon, or is the terrain not suitable for it? They are on the north side, I think. Are you familiar with it? I read somewhere that the campsites can be 20-50 meters from the car park, but I don't know for sure. Anything that you can share would be appreciated! Thanks in advance.

I love this park, I was just there two weeks ago and stayed in a new site #79. I will be posting a new video about that site soon. In the meantime I can tell you a little bit more about the walk-in sites on the south side of the lake like 106, 105 and 102. I just posted video clips to my instagram so you can get an idea of what they are like. Each of these have an individual carpad net to the road and a short walk to the tent site overlooking the water. Find me at instagram.com/exploringcanada.info on Instagram
