Why would they land on the moon vertically? If they're using an all new system to land, just arrange thrusters and legs to land horizontally. No need then to worry about tipping over, or adding extra stuff to re-orient the landed ship. right?

"Revealed"? Really, not much new compared to what we were told at school back in the 1970s. Of course, most of my generation - along with our parents - despised the space race as a useless waste (which it probably was), and did not care to remember fine detail. But it was all there.

It would be really cool if you could appear on your videos dressed in a Steve Jobs style black turtleneck. I think it would match your reading Style

8:52 until the end of the segment (3-4 minutes later) is a great explanation for newbies who are excited to learn about rocketry, cycle types and Raptor's innovations, but who run into a proverbial brick wall with many dizzying attempts to describe these things elsewhere. Great work! 👍

I think one option to avoid the perchlorate problem is to use the soil extracted from the tunnels to grow food on the surface. Tunnel dirt will likely have less perchlorate content (depending on the tunnel location) and require less processing with water.

I STILL don't understand why there isn't more discussion about creating artificial gravity for the trip there. A slowly tumbling Starship with a 60 second rotational period could provide just enough centrifugal force (0.05g) to minimize the effects of 0G on the human body. The crew would still have to exercise to maintain strength but it would avoid blood pooling in the brain and around other vital organs.

our best chance of colonizing mars is to honestly send robots there to build a habitable environment for us, sending humans is way too risky and requires too much resources for it to be successful in the early stages

For a computer that can withstand incredible amounts of Radiation why not just use a smartphone type device and give it a Lead protective case? You could even use a Samsung folding colapsable phone to keep it extra protected while not in use. It's so small and lightweight bring multiple backups along. All this BS about our fragile electronics keeping us from returning to Moon is just that BS. if we were willing to spend half of what Apollo did we would have gone to all the planets by now. If not manned then use rovers.

No, you do NOT split atomic nuclei with ELECTRONS. It requires NEUTRONS. This is Atomic Energy 101.

You know by my data, that I enjoy your clips, but making this clip without mentioning Freeman Dyson. Is like ignoring our past history. NASA: Project Orion. Read up. I demand a new version. Seriously. Better work, without Fall-out, which I have never played.

Stupid and completely wrong illustration . The individual molecules don't behave as shown, they follow the laws of quantum mechanics. The real flow is almost exactly like a continuous compressible flow with discontinuous flow called shockwaves and disassociation called a plasma.

Why do we insist on launching at sea level. Why not go to Colorado or some other area of high altitude so that we can save on fues and potential internanal volume in the space ship?

Is the mechanism by which fission reactions will drive fusion reactions similar to the process that some people feared might ignite the atmosphere during the Trinity test in July 1945? The atmospheric ignition idea was based on a chain reaction of two nitrogen-14 nuclei and a hydrogen nucleus fusing over and over again. The Trinity device was nowhere near powerful enough to trigger this, but is it the basis of the engine that was described in the video? Thank you.
