WELD A BRace across the weld. Top and bottom and in the back. TO USE THAT BOLT SYSTEM ONE END NEEDS RIGHT HAND THRED AND THE OTHER END NEEDS LEFT HAND THREDS.

I'm doubtful it will work because of the effects of welding on that base material. These are typically cast iron with a special heat treatment. It becomes very brittle and hard in the heat affected zone. If there is the slightest runout between bearings, it will quickly fatigue and break, because it is already highly stressed. Brazing might be a better fix, although the heat may spoil the hardness of the nearby lobes.
