hi. when the preview is moving and i hit my shortcut for "ripple start to playhead" , playhead wont move. for example when you have paused video and hit "ripple start to playhead" it snaps playhead to the starts of clip. but when video is rolling the playhead wont move. is there a fix? thankssss

Hi there! This function works for me in both 18 and 19 so not sure why it's not working for you I'm afraid. Are you doing anything markedly different when the video isn't playing (selecting the clip for example)? Sorry I can't be more help!

How are you adding speed points with the keyboard Or shortcuts? I looked it up you cannot assgin shortcut to "add/remove speed point". Do share how are u doing this? scripts maybe? @3:42 and @07:04. Thanks
@Chris.Roberts4 күн бұрын
Hi! No big secret and no scripting either! When the Retime controls are active on a clip you can add a speed point at the playhead position by pressing Cmd/Ctrl-[ I didn’t mention it explicitly in the video but the shortcuts are mentioned in the description. HTH!!!

Thank you Chris, fantastic video! Found you when searching for help with working with multi FR clips that is causing my rendered video to zoom in (newer to DR). when I added my multicam clip to the left viewer window only one of the video clips showed up in the viewer. The other video clip was blank black. Why would that happen and I could not figure out how to delete the clips that I had dragged into the viewer window.
@Chris.Roberts28 күн бұрын
This might be because the clips were different lengths... If a clip has started recording at an earlier time, the other clip(s) will appear once you reach a part of the multicam clip where all cameras were recording. You can delete angles in the multicam clip by opening it into the timeline. Just right-click the mutlicam clip in the Media Pool and choose "Open in Timeline". HTH!

Can you change from Mono to Stereo in the audio track of a multicam clip or can you only change from Mono to stereo in the original audio clip before you combine clips into a multicam clip?

Yes, you can change an audio clip's channel configuration in a multicam using Clip Attributes. HTH.

First of all, thank you for your explanation and efforts My question has been discussed during the video, however, I just wanna know if m getting things right, let's say I have a timeline of 25fps ( custom timeline ) and I have this "X" clip of 50fps. If I simply dragged that clip to the timeline and slowed it by 50%, would that mean that I am not losing any frames or would it mean that the timeline has forced the clip to be 25 ( and when I slowed it, now it's kinda 12.5 and things don't seem right ) Whenever I wanna slow a clip I have, I keep asking myself the same question, cause when I try to slow it down, davinci shows the "percentage of slowing" and " frames ", and it always shows me "12.5fps" even though the clip is originally 50fps *( obviously cause the timeline is forcing the 25fps ) BUT I AM SUPER CONFUSED
@Chris.Roberts28 күн бұрын
Hi there... Happy to try and help! OK... Essentially, you are right. If your clip is 50fps and you add it to a 25fps timeline, then Resolve will play the clip back at the timeline frame rate... So, instead of playing 50fps, that instance of the clip will play at 25fps... in other words only *every other* frame of the source clip will play... The other frames are effectively skipped. If you slow the clip to 50% of it's originally speed the skipped frames will be played... Slowing a the clip even further will mean frames have to be repeated or otherwise interpolated (which is a whole other subject) Where I think your confusion stems from is what the Speed Change controls in the Inspector? These controls displays the *frame rate of the timeline*, whereas I think they should display the frame rate of the clip instead... Either way, when you slow a 50fps clip in a 25fps timeline, the Speed Change control will display the Frames per second as 12.5. So, it's important to not reply on this value... You need to understand what the source frame rate of the clip is. Hope this helps! FYI, I have another video which might help kzfaq.info/get/bejne/aKuAmc-LldzLdKM.html

I haven't started to watch the video yet and just the fact that you put the correct subtitles and not the ones predetermined by KZfaq, makes me subscribe to your channel. You don't know how useful it is to manually set the subtitles, so that later people worldwide can use the automatic translator offered by the platform, which fortunately, that works great. Thank you very much for making it possible for all of us to learn from you, regardless of my native language.
@Chris.RobertsАй бұрын
Fantastic to hear! Thanks for commenting! I always make sure every video has accurate subtitles… the automatic subtitles just don’t do it for me at all. My partner is hard of hearing and so we often stream films and shows with subtitles. P.S. hope you enjoyed the video too 😜
@capodicasa29 күн бұрын
@@Chris.Roberts I really appreciate it very much. You don't know how many times I've asked other channels, who tell me I'm right but don't end up applying it. Although, having corrected subtitles, the translation into different languages is more accurate and therefore the audience would increase substantially. Someone from Italy would understand and learn, someone from the Philippines would understand and learn and so would the rest of the world. P.S.: excellent videos. Clear, easy to understand and very fluent. Congratulations!

is this effect possible with Davinci kzfaq.info/get/bejne/gMl-pt2A2L-dkZc.html if so could you show us how
@Chris.RobertsАй бұрын
Hi, yes something similar can be achieved in Resolve using different techniques... Depending on the video clip and the brightness/colour of the text you might want to try a composite mode to the text in the Composite section of the Inspector... Alternatively you can also try to stack the clips V1=water V2=text V3=water and apply a luma keyer to the upper clip. This is just one method. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/fa6VptNnmbHKnp8.html

Very helpful thank you Chris. Would you possibly consider going on from here to cover altering elements of say a title in fusion. For example if I wanted to change various elements say the line or line placement. I have some ready made KZfaq subscribe etc titles but in most cases they fade or wipe on too fast or too slow and I want to change the speed but when I open them in fusion there is so many elements I get very confused with what does what and by changing one it can have a disastrous effect on all the other elements.
@Chris.RobertsАй бұрын
Will do! It's a little difficult as each title will be created differently, depending where the template was acquired from... In the meantime I'd encourage you to dig deeper into Fusion and learn how the titles are built... That way you can better target the tool you're after. There is a lot of "trial and error" to this... Don't be afraid of trying things and breaking them - that's the best way to learn. You always have the original title if the worse comes to the worse. Enjoy!

@@Chris.Roberts Hi Chris thank you for your reply. The main ones I was trying to figure out was KZfaq Creator Pack and one of the problems is that they do not always mark up what fusion node does what so if you have say 30 elements in a fusion clip I do not know if there is a way to work out what is effecting what. Not understanding fusion (although I do a little bit more having watched your video) I wandered does it follow a logical trail?
