Would be better having wood as indoor floor?

Nice how the tiles continue trough all the rooms, we didn't see the cuts gone wrong but it must have been many. The plants make a nice contrast with the concrete wall behind, and create a good indoor climate as well.

Подскажите пожалуйста , разве можно битум раскладывать внутри помещения? Это не вредно для здоровья? Или это какой то экологический битум ? 😂

Great job! I confirm that the porcelain stoneware was chosen correctly and installed without seams or thresholds throughout the entire first floor area. I did this in my house in 2015 (and I also have warm water floor heating and semi-dry sand cement screed) and still no problems. Even taking into account that the glue was applied only on the floor ;)

Impressive job! How many of those large tiles did you accidentally break? It's good to see the foreman keeping herself busy. I'm looking forward to the custom cabinetry.

If there's one thing that proves a true professional, it's that they can work well with any equipment, like from Lidl. Thank you so much for another great video. I am very curious to see more as each video continues to reveal your almost unreal but perfectly executed vision. Btw I thought using a penetrant to mix the first layer of glue was a fantastic idea, if I understood correctly.

That tile leveling system is a game changer. I did my floor with 60x120cm tiles and it went so fast and perfect. But I layed out the tiles randomly, but always an overlap of more then 1/3th. I think it looks nicer with such big tiles. No straight lines in both directions and no repetition. But it took some planning not to have a pattern after a few rows. The indoor garden is a nice idea.

It feels like it has been quite a while since you last showed of the amazing progress on your house but having watched that, I can see why: those floor tiles are massive! Not only do they look tough to maneuver around but I would be so paranoid when doing the cut outs (c'mon, it's a safe space here, were there many casualties in your pursuit of perfection? 😉) Loving the integrated indoor planting as well. It feels like it softens the large flat walls nicely. Keep up the amazing work

This house continues to get more and more incredible. The attention to detail on the tilework (aligning the floor grid with the corner of the stairs!) is only found in self-builds and the most expensive mansions...

There are special tile vibrators, really helps out with getting all the air out for large tiles such as yours.

Yes I looked into it but after lifting a few tiles and seeing there was 100% coverage I felt there was no need for it.
@florianreclaire50814 сағат бұрын
@@lignumchannel You're troweling the thinset in parallel lines which is the right way to do it. As a result, the ridges collapse in one direction thus giving 100% coverage

It’s definitely coming along. Beautiful work as always. Do you ever find it ironic as one making a living woodworking, that you build your house with not much wood? 🙂
@lignumchannel15 сағат бұрын
Yeah, I already plan the next one with much more wood:D but this one still has a lot more wood to come..
@kschleic905315 сағат бұрын
There are wood details😂 to be fair, a concrete/stone/tile home will last a very long time, and there is plenty of room for beautiful wood in the doors, furniture, and details.

Hard to tell in the video, but maybe he used textured finish tiles in the shower. No slipping there! I used them in my reno. Always put a towel on the floor outside of the shower. Ask me how I know!

Plants before functioning bathroom? Priorities I guess :D Speaking of bathroom, that and the kitchen part that I'm looking forward :) Will you cut off the rods under the stair steps? If you plan to have kids then those can be dangerous
@lignumchannel16 сағат бұрын
That's why I love movie magic:) You don't have to edit in the same order you filmed;) As for the stairs, those treads are temporary, final ones will be much thicker and cover the steel from all sides. That's why I left the rods longer, after I install the final treads, excess will be cut off..

Impressive house build with good eye for details. Do you have some architectural or construction technology background? Did you spend some time in US or Canada? There are some parts of your construction that probably went a bit overboard, and could have been done for less money or somewhat differently. For example, styrofoam insulation has pretty good thermal insulation values, but it is also highly flammable. Mineral wool, on the other hand is not bad, and is also fire resistant. Still, very well done.
