2:05 there are significant differences between the scans. The Kodak seemed to have a slight edge enhancement present but this might have simply been due to the increased noise from the high resolution punishing the compression algorithm (Either at scan time or from KZfaq). The Wolverine did not present as much noise but at the cost of some detail.

You are going to have to do a google search to see who develops film unless you can get a developing kit off of amazon. Once that you have it developed, you can use a transfer machine like the Kodak Reels. I do like the Kodak Reels over the other 8mm transfer machines. However, if you are shooting super8 with sound, you won't be able to use the Kodak Reels. You can check out my video on the Kodak Reels to see what you think. Best of luck and keep me posted! I do remember the days my father would pull out the slide projector and screen to view photos. He never shot on 8mm film. It was a wonderful experience. Unfortunately, the projectors being sold on eBay, thrift stores and garage sales are not refurbished. They are sold as is and for some reason, people just think they will work just fine and then the family film gets destroyed. It's sad and I have heard of this from time and time again over the past 20+ years.

1. Don't touch the heads with fingers the oil will damage them 2. Don't touch the heads with a cue tip the fibres will tangle on the heads leading to problems also. 3.don't squirt a duster since the dust will get inside the drum heads. With patience pick up the dust with a cue tip and 99.9% iso propyl alcohol. Use a folded piece of paper to clean the head drum - plenty videos showing this. Cleaning a vcr requires patience and there's no simple way to do it properly without damaging it.

My vhs came out the player with the tape sticking out of the case a little bit. I got it back in by opening the lid of the case and using the edge of my finger to slip the tape back in, but I’m paranoid if me touching it like that has damaged it
@TheMediaNerdMT18 күн бұрын
On the side of the VHS housing is a little button close to the lid on the side. You press that in to release the lid. On the bottom of the tape there is a hole in the back middle. Use a pen to press the little flap down which releases the gears to the spools. You can then manually wind your tape back safely. To answer your question about damage, I doubt it. Tapes are tough, you may get a little static from the part that got creased or some kind of blur from maybe getting finger oil on it but you should be ok.

The colors are absolutely unstable and sometimes unreal from one scene to another. After countless tests I gave up and returned to my Wolverine pro, which has stable colors throughout the whole film. With reduced tint, it improved but the effect still remains. -For instance a gray background of a title scene becomes red when it`s after a previous scene with a nature take or other. I `m hoping, that Kodak cares about this and provides an update of the firmware (I have 2.0 American version). With this issue being solved, I like the features of the Kodak Reels and I would take it back from the junk room.
