All the animations and shots look like they should be continuously looping in a yt video with a slowed version of The Perfect Girl playing

I'm pretty sure japanese anime is mostly 24 fps, it just than most frames are drawn on 2's and sometimes 3's. It's a hard concept to grasp though, I only know this because I do some animation on my own. (you can have one image repeated 24 frames and that will still count as 24 fps, it is unlikely the framerate is different within the same film, but not the quantity of drawings per second.)

It's not how it works.. 2D animation is real art becsuse it require human hands to model a character, when cg is done in mathematically

The problem with this method is that the buckle will still deform and stretch when pulled around.

Creativity will always thrive within the limitations surrounding it. But most importantly if the focus is on making a piece of art the mediums shortcomings generally fade away. I think things are a lot worse now because so little of it is cared for or thought about, just another scene in a spreadsheet of shotlists just waiting to be kicked out the door asap... 10/10 video friend, excellent presentation and work.

6:30 Whenever I try to make the pockets, upon "cut & sew", the edges of the colored fabric become rigid, but the lines from vertices themselves remain the same as before. As opposed to yours looking clean and following the lines like how you cut it. Any reason for this that anyone knows? Also thanks for the vids they're very helpful! Edit: Found out it was because of particle distance. Setting it from triangles to quads gives more geometry and helps it a bit, but for some reason (on my 1700 mm model) I had to decrease it to somewhere around 3 mm distance to smooth out the pockets. I don't know if this is something that only needs to be adjusted for the final render or what, I'm too new. However I'm troubleshooting with different models and such to see if I can fix it.

I dunno if it's just me but the 12fps feels more 2d while the smoothness of 60fps feels more 3D

These anime movies were made in 24fps not 12. And we humans don't see like a camera with a wide field of view and constant detailed movement, we blink, and also our eye has focus, and we are always changing focus to different areas in the vision , which takes a little time for the brain to process, all of this shows why 24 fps is standard and is what best represents the naturalness of our vision. So using 30, 60 fps would be a mistake.

Yeah I think the early 90's represents a combination of both a bottleneck of options and decades of experience leading up to that point. For anime and comic books. In other words it was the the highest XP era of anime and comic book art prior to computer armageddon where no one knew how to use an infinity of tools anywhere near as well. And it has just taken time and development to build up that kind of XP with all the power modern tools engender.
