I grew up in a horse boarding stable and have seen every kind of horse owner there is. I come across you video and heard you mention, “Clinton Anderson 101”, so I had to check him out. With seconds I didn’t like him or how he treated the horse so I looked at another and same. That is not a horse trainer anyone should want to follow. He is mean to the animals and because he is who you follow I lm not interested in looking at your videos. May I suggest someone who is actually good and worth watching for anyone wanting to gain knowledge in horsemanship? Look at Ryan Rose, he is one to follow and learn from!

I follow a lot of horse trainers including Ryan Rose, Buck Brannaman, Clinton Anderson, Martin Black, and many others. They all bring something to the table. The beauty of this craft is there are many good examples to learn from.

@@Stonefieldranch well thank you, i have a little more clout on the breed as well, my mom was a friesen and our family originally came from friesland where the breed originated, but that doesn’t sound as good as the original comment 🤣

Good video, solid info. I put in for 63 this year, hoping I draw a tag. I got charged by a griz in Hellroaring (north of Yellowstone) several years ago. I was holding onto two horses (lead rope in each hand) after taking them to water at the creek. Luckily, I was able to scare him off. I stepped it off, he was 28 feet from me when he quit his charge and took off the other way. Interesting experience!

Mettalic Cat was Doc Bar line bred anyway. Maybe if you crossed him with a mare with some size? You're giving up a little agility but I ddon't want to be roping bulls on a 950 pound gelding. I try to keep my working horses in that 1100-1300 pound range.

Y’all should definitely start a hiring program. I’ve wanted to learn about ranching all my life but the area of Florida I live in, there is no availability or anyone willing to take the time to teach you. Y’all seem very humble and I hope many blessings come your way.

Come January 1st when my mares are about to begin foaling, they get a few refresher runs w/ the golf cart. LOL Im on a 150 acres, aint no way im dragging in 25 mares + their foals. I take one and my passenger takes two. Foals follow. Now I have another idea to warm up Sidney before a ride! 🤣

Not me watching this as my mare gets AI and flushed to Metallic Cat 😂💀 But in all seriousness I 100% agree with everything you said. My husband and I breed and train our own reining/cow horses and are typically looking/aiming for a Lvl 4 Open or NP horse. However, we have lots of relationships in the industry and nice mares so we’ve often gotten a free breeding by trading an embryo. This helps a ton. The mare we are breeding to MC was out of a 5k Genuine Doc mare and a free breeding to Platinum Vintage since our friend owned him and my husband rode him as a 2/3yo. The resulting filly came out top tier and proved herself worthy to be bred to a top industry stud. She is definitely a Ferrari and although extremely broke she is a ton of horse athletically, and I wouldn’t put anyone on her unless they are used to riding a horse of this level.
