Great catch of this shuttle! I remember my grandpa would take me on the train from Middletown to spring lake almost every weekend during the spring and fall when I was a kid. This footage with a good old NJT gp40 brings back so many memories for me, so thank you for this!

I’ve noticed that they’ve been having the Cab Cars leading on the NJT NJCL Bay Head directs more often. Plus I took a ride down to Bay Head on NJT #3361 & the day that I went to Bay Head both NJT directs #3363 & #3373 both had Cab Cars leading on point.

where exactly do you find your information? it isn’t very smart to post it to the public. i’m all in for seeing the train and posting it. there just isn’t a need to post the information about their operations.

All of the information I provided is readily available online through multiple websites and forums, including from the Navy itself. Nobody has given me any information that isn’t already out there somewhere on the internet. The ships also typically show up on Marine Traffic when they’re in the port.

@@jerseyshorerailproductions how did you know what time the train was running? i heard about something about 3 years ago about buffs being jammed up by the police. a big group of people plus cameras and tripods isn’t the smartest thing to have around that property.

The time is pretty consistent each time they run. Once they get out to the pier, it’s very easy to predict when they will return that afternoon. The key to not being stopped is to simply be smart. Don’t trespass or have a large group of people and the risk of being stopped is much lower.

Very cool. In all my years of growing up down there I never saw the train. Saw the cops on the private road a few times. My brother even bought a house on Swimming River Rd Lincroft & he never saw one. My son has some slides of a special tourist charter 80’s I think. I did see the train on the pier once while sailing. Just looked so big. Thanks again 🚂👋

Well, i can relate. First, I would love to see this train, as a local railfan and military buff. I also sail, and have sailed near the pier before. I have never seen the locomotives before, but would bequite a treat

Wow you finally caught it. I have a model of this train on my channel with one of Earle's retired SW1200s 65-00631 #6 made by MTH. Looking to get the prototypical New Cast P3 sound file inserted into the engine. Those police escorts are no joke. Must have been a big Israeli shipment
