I really like the end how you pointed out reaching out on Instagram. I’ve never tried to get “rich” friends, but I do lack friends and feel a bit lost on how to find/approach people. I’ve considered DMing someone before, but I’m so afraid to look weird or creepy. Especially as a 27 y/o it can feel hard to gauge these things because you feel “out of the loop” on many social and internet norms. Although I’m not sure what exactly I would say beyond “you look cool” lol

I love how you can laugh at yourself and acknowledge how crazy different peoples' perceptions of life and privilege can be. I wish I could see what the hell you managed to spend $3.5k a month on! :'D

Your humility and attitude of appreciation for your parents, and all of your experiences, plus your willingness to learn from each situation, is incredibly inspiring. And it’s also a testament to how much love you must have felt from your parents. I would feel so proud if I were them! 🩷

The man makes the house, the woman makes the home. If you can’t pay for dating, you can’t afford the family. A home is expensive, but kids are way more expensive. If you can’t make money while you sleep, you cannot afford to oarent your kids. Why do you date if you don’t want to have a family?!

I met an italian girl that would fight you over 10 cents, she would message my friend saying “you own me € 0,37 from the coffee yesterday”. When my friend complained about her, I said, well maybe she struggles with money, we never know. My friend said: she pretends to be one of us, but she is the kind of rich that has more than one Renoir in her house. Family rich for 10 generations. 🤷🏻♀️

I was also the rich kid. I was not like rich rich, but it was more than enough. Pandemic hits and it's all gone. I used to eat chicken every day and beef once in a while (it's not like my parents can't afford it, it's just not our culture to eat beef regularly). They'd also spoil me with toys, food, and back to school season equals to swapping completely fine items with new ones (literally). Now we eat chicken like 3 times a month. Which is so much better than when it was quarantine season. My parents can barely afford me cheap music classes, or hire a tutor because I'm homeschooled. The anxiety and not having peace in mind is soo relatable. I want to be in med school and I often randomly cry knowing how much money it takes. I really want to stop homeschooling but public schools here are doomed and i cant go to a private school because my sister is currently is in uni. I'm prolly going to online private school next year because it's so much cheaper. I'm grateful for what i have, i have 2 instruments and still get to eat decent food every day but i want these anxiety to be all gone. So yeah, I just hope we all get better asap

Yo, really fun to hear that, I actually had a date once, at like 11 y.o., and there was a Bodyguard waiting for us at the Food court while we were at the movies and the arcades. It was fun, but as we grew older I started feeling like I don't belong with the girl and her surroundings... Yeah, Bodyguards at the date, real thing in Russia)

As Ukrainian I can tell you - it's a bs, that girls do their hair and makeup in salons at 14. Only rich one, but I think this is lifestyle of every rich kid all around the globe.

yes im grateful for my parents even though i didnt really experienced the type of love and emotional support parents are meant to show to their kids, but i would always make sure that my kids are getting treated at best, not to spoil them with extreme money and gifts but the genuinely important things such as safety, emotional wellbeing, protection, my love for them which can impact their self esteem etc etc. Im extremely ambitious career woman but when it comes to kids, i would sacrifice that, because its our choice to bring them to this world, so one better be responsible to raise them right with utmost love and care !!

Love that you shared the Truth genuinely! Many people need to be aware of and learn How exactly some people get to where they are today instead of believing the "superficial achievements" some prevelige/rich kids have. Many of them Never have the need to work/put efforts to put food on the table even like you said, which it's easy to stay in the comfort. That's completely different from the people who get to where they are after going through the real world experiences with difficulties and scars. Don't just believe whatever "success" people say on the tv, social media, etc. guys! Get to question and Learn How they did it that's where it's the most valuable. 😉

You did not say it, but just an assumption. You went to Cornell University in Ithaca NY, which closest city is Syracuse, and yep, both are in the middle of nowhere. Cornells Computer Sc. Degree is quite popular among Ivy League Universities. The mall in Ithaca was kinda small tbh. I really enjoyed going to Wegmans though.

It’s funny how the ukraine government is presenting their own country as poor but has the most rich people. But sure they are mostly corrupt. The “war” which isn’t in the whole country (there isn’t even military in the big cities) gives all ukraine citizens the privilege to get to Germany, get extremely wealthy through our social care system and do vacation 365 days in ukraine We as german people pay their wealth
