Its interesting that people think, hanging out together, going to clubs, restaurants and vacations are so integral to frienship

Its very backwards, you actually make real friends by going through real shi with them

Nice point. When I think about it, books of fiction often portray friendship as going through literal hell together-- fights, hardships, deaths, complex emotions. Hanging out and vacations is just the ice cream on top and a well-needed rest instead of actually considered important to the plot.

I hope that you don’t worry too much about looking “spoiled”. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with growing up wealthy. I grew up fairly poor. My siblings and I would often share a single tin of soup because there was nothing else to eat. That experience taught me a lot. I would imagine that growing up wealthy teaches you a lot too! Don’t hide yourself. As long as you’re not bragging (you really don’t seem like the type to brag) then it’s totally fine. Your stories are so fascinating to me! It’s very interesting to hear an honest perspective on the privileges and also the challenges you faced from growing up as a rich kid. Xx

Wow sharing a single tin of soup 🥺 omg I wonder what your parents would eat in those moments probably that soup was all there was! My father many days would go without lunch at work so that he could provide lunch money for my siblings and I 😪

I teared up at your frenemy asking you to meetup at a park to walk her dog. Rich or poor, young and old, this is a true friend for life that we all are searching for. If you are lucky enough to have found one, keep nurturing this friendship for life. Thank you for sharing.

I love this. These human stories are not told enough to show most people why wealthy people are human and have struggles also. And they are very specific and very isolating! Lots hide their wealth and "pretend to be poor" because the hatred of wealth has been so highly stoked by the American media specifically to make us turn on each other and be unable to work together in harmony. Money is not the only struggle that matters in the world!

At uni i got friends who are very wealthy, now their birthdays are coming up and it is kind of clear we all want to gift each other something, i just am not that well off so i can not afford anything that would suit them, mind you i thought about what to gift them based off the topics we talked about and what i think they want or need in lower cost categories, long story short i am not satisfied with the presents I ended up getting for them As an example, with one girl we talked a lot about how much we love rituals (the brand), i like the brand from the window shopping and that one little bodyspray i got after saving money for a couple of weeks, to her the brand is like an one dollar shop, j thought maybe i will still manage to get her a room perfume type of thing but that didnt work out so i just got her a regular room perfume from a different 'brand' which is unknown, i feel like there is no point to this gift, it doesnt seem luxurious, it isnt personal, there is basically nothing to this gift, no thought process at least none that she can see through and understand I know about the "writing them a card, a personal note" and thats cool and all but we havent known each other for a very long period so we just are jot quiet on that level and eventhough we might say personal kind words are worth more, in order for the gift to be 'complete' j still feel like i need an actual physical gift

I’m sorry no one replied to you earlier. I’m also sorry because I haven’t got anything of value to contribute to your dilemma. Except that I can imagine this being a difficult situation. Ugh. I hope everything turned out well in the end. I honestly can’t imagine how embarrassing it would be if I had rich friends that all bought me something grand and expensive and I only had modest, low cost presents. And it’s silly because I know that they wouldn’t care about that, but I would care so much I would just die of shame. (I’m only saying this in my comment because it’s so long after the fact and I know it won’t make you feel really awkward about the situation since it’s already over 😅)

@aliyevaalbina I have questions. First of all, I love your honesty and transparency. You talked about feeling self secure - could you please talk more about that? Like, how did you achieve it? Before the war, you didn’t feel the need to prove yourself as a rich kid. And then you realized you’ve become insecure during the war due to financial hardships. I am assuming that your parents making the money back afterwards and hence providing you with the financial security helped with you achieving self security again. Was this the case? If so, what would you advise people who are financially insecure, hence are not self secure, to do? Were there people you know who were financially unstable but were still self secured and made rich friends? Could you share more about those? Thank you!

I really like the end how you pointed out reaching out on Instagram. I’ve never tried to get “rich” friends, but I do lack friends and feel a bit lost on how to find/approach people. I’ve considered DMing someone before, but I’m so afraid to look weird or creepy. Especially as a 27 y/o it can feel hard to gauge these things because you feel “out of the loop” on many social and internet norms. Although I’m not sure what exactly I would say beyond “you look cool” lol

The Rawness and Realness is welcome and informative. For someone from Pluto like myself, grasping the über Earthly mindset especially of über Capitalism is now actually interesting and fun. D9d the trip to rock bottom there to grow some feet, so the next chapter is very exciting if simultaneously nerve wracking. 🎉 Your channel is appreciated much. N.

See I don’t like to say I grew up a rich kid but I will say I grew up heavily privileged my parents wouldn’t always just give me things but when I was younger I will admit most things were handed to me and the only reason I wanted things in school is because my friends had them and I wouldn’t fit in because I’m not wearing the new j’s that dropped but I didn’t realize this till more the end of high school because like you said it’s like a bubble your under and oblivious to what is going on around you not because you don’t care but more because you just didn’t know because your confident it’s not something you have to worry about
