If you do it outside, think about doing it in the early morning, before the wind and dust pick up.

Sir, did you mention how much paint it took for. Your blue Honda van? I wondered if I should paint my 92 Dodge longbed pickup myself. Local guy quoted $8,000 to paint it...said he has to buy the paint in small quantities, and it costs more. I will do this, evenj though I am an old grandma. Attention to detail, lots of sanding, no problem. . Has anyone used a Graco airless for this?

I've done it a few times. You did a much spiffier job. I just used scotch bright pads to scuff the surface. I also didn't use thinner. They were 20/20 jobs. 20 feet away at 20mph. They have hardener at Tractor Supply. Their paint is pretty much the same as Rustolium. For a bed liner look, use a wide nap roller. It looks cool on old jeeps etc.

@thejoyoffixing I'm a retired woman living in and out of my '03 Buick Lesabre for 18 months. She is infected with that dang 'delamination'. While I was out west camping in the winter, no problem. Now that I've been back in the south for 4 months, it's now started rusting along with the delam. Seeing your well-done, thoughtful video, I truly believe I can do most of this by myself. Thank you again. Shelley 💣

Hi, here's another young, healthy looking guy said he's been sick. So, I suggest you may want to check out Dr Eric Berg's channel, Ken Berry, Dr Sten Eckberg, These guys all talk about how food and vitamins affect your health. I think you probably need Vitamin D with Vitamin K2 . I worked in an industrial facility, and had trouble breathing and climbing stairs. That is all behind me now and I am much healthier and stronger. I take the pill form of Vit c, b complex, cod liver oil pills, some minerals, eat low carb, have a list of foods i skip, am much healthier. I did get a cold last year, it lasted 5 days.

@thejoyoffixing4 күн бұрын
The roller is awesome! What I really suggest is thinning it out a bit and then rolling on and finishing with a brush! That’s gonna be the smoothest! The brush tips will knock down the roller texture a lot

I have an old sleep number bed from 2001 and I like mine a lot. But I also only weigh 125lbs and don’t have a back injury so maybe that’s the difference? I also don’t agree with how high the prices are. I was going to get a new one but the pricing kept me from purchasing so I’ll just keep my old one that works fine. Plus the newer sleep number beds are reliant on the internet where mine is not. What if I don’t want to pay for internet anymore then I’m stuck. Prayers for you and hope the surgery helped with your chronic pain.
@thejoyoffixing4 күн бұрын
Everything you said is pretty accurate. If you’re around 125 to 150 pounds maybe the bed is better for you because you have less requirement for support on your bone structure and pressure points. Also, I would have greatly preferred an older one that didn’t rely on an Internet connection at all. It just makes it more complicated than it needs to be. Thanks for the kind words. Thanks for the comments. I hope you’ll subscribe and stick around. I like making videos like this.

I noticed you made a comment about painting a black car, with the black paint, which is exactly what I was planning on doing, so what should my reservations be? I would be ok with semigloss in place of high gloss if that is available. I would appreciate your advice. Thanks Paul
@thejoyoffixing8 күн бұрын
If you’re using this tractor paint, I don’t think it comes in different gloss options. It’s glossy because there’s so much enamel in it. If you need something else you’re going to end up going with maybe one of the other enamel rust oleum. You might have to do a little more research on that.

This is nothing new, how do you all think vehicles were painted before spray guns? They were painted enamel paints, by hand. We used to paint our rally cars by hand, because if you uise the correct paint it is as hard as nails. Mostly we used a paint named 'Valspar' but any decent hand paint will do. The top tip is get yourself a little stove and a small sauspan and get the paint bubbling on the heat ... then paint it on. As the paint cools ... it shrinks and gives a mirror finish. You're welcome.

Ford would pour black lacquer over the Model Ts with a hose and let it run and drip off. I believe most auto manufactures used Dulux enamel back in the fifties, sprayed on, but no hardner-just straight enamel and air dry. Great video-so nice to see someone turn back the clock decades to common sense and simplicity.
