With so many color variations of beads that Troutbeads and other companies make, what are some of your best producers? There are like 30 variations of orange and 50 pinks alone. Lol Oh, and what size?

I hope to explore it a lot this year. There always seems to be steelhead.
@fiq24403 жыл бұрын
I will be heading to that spot tonight looking for cats and bass. I usually fish the entire canal side all the way to the end and fish the river side in the shallow calmer stuff past the peace bridge. Usually get 2 or 3 on my way up. Weeds are starting to come in heavy, almost time to switch to the boat. Good work out there!

Is that your leader knot getting in the guides or are you running a splitshot or swivel?
@FishinFolks3 жыл бұрын
I was running my mainline to a small barrel swivel and then to about 3ft of fluorocarbon- it was the barrel swivel getting caught
@christophermesquita11474 ай бұрын
@FishinFolks learn how to tie an fj knot and then run a high speed barrel swivel the fj knot is so smooth you can tie on a 20 foot leader if you want works great in clear water conditions

rainbows and steelhead are the same fish lol. One lives in the river normally and one is lake run. Same fish though. Now you know.

thought fishing with beads in PA was illegal cause you're hooking the outside of their mouth and technically snagging.

Yup, river sturgeon - runs like a shark, but then stops and maybe runs again in a different direction - no matter your drag setting - maybe even a third run - all massive runs - then runs you on bottom thru rocks and breaks you off. Your not supposed to take them out of the water if caught, just take out hook - endangered - but they are coming back for sure, especially in the east coast rivers.

Can someone post a video about how to stay safe on the banks of these NE OH rivers and creeks. I am just plain scared to try some of the locations I scout. I am almost tempted to hook up block and tackle to a tree!

I am by no means an expert but if you’re going to a new creek I’d highly recommend going with a partner when the water is low and clear. I seldom explore new creeks on my own.
