Jason - glad you are feeling a little better. I do mostly agree with Baz, there were a lot of pearls of wisdom in there. I was surprised to hear the "man drowning in hopelessness" -- in that particular video, maybe you were. In general, it doesn't seem that way to me.. you seem like someone who gets up every day and tries. You have some hobbies that you're VERY intelligent with. I think Baz meant that apologizing and making amends involves expressing your remorse safely and then moving on. You've already tried to apologize, and continuously doing so isn't productive. Similarly, dwelling on it mentally after taking responsibility is unhelpful. There's a difference between the actual situation and one's mental processing of it/ tendency to obsess over it. 😊

Hey ..... Jason? I did watch your whole video and do feel a motivation to respond. Before I do, my name is Baz and I live in England. I am 59 yrs on this planet and like you I value being a good person. I have been depressed, I have been very dissapointed with the world, I have certainly suffered from others expectations but I have suffered far more from my own. I have certainly paid attention to the nature of this existence we share and have made some definitive observations. Observations that have shaped my core principles in this life. 1. The meaning of life is mental well being. Of this I am sure. An optimised experience of life should definitely be the one aim we strive for. 2. Goodness is the only thing that truly matters. True mental wellbeing can only come from good situations, good people, good intentions and good thoughts. To indulge anything that opposes this invites stress. Stress is the enemy. 3. Goodness should dominate the 'now' . the past exists nowhere but in my head. The future does not, and never will, exist anywhere but in my head. When I create and repeat resentment in my head for past events then I simply distress myself with my own imaginings. This poisons my 'now' with self induced stress. If I choose to entertain my insecurities and fears in relation to the future, then again, I distress myself with my own imaginings. In your video I see a good man distressing himself with imaginings. 4. The mother of all resentment is unrealistic expectation. Expectations are a trap. The world and everything in it is EXACTLY as it should be. Everything and everyone is non negotiable nature in constant flow. We cannot expect the world to comply to our preferred standards. People are perfectly themselves. They are exactly as they should be given the natural journey they are on since birth. Everything they experienced up to this moment shaped them. It is perfection. If the nature of them is challenging to our nervous system then the best we can do is shelter from that human weather. That is what human behaviour is..... Weather! 5. There are no problems, only solutions. You are clearly an intelligent person. You have the ability to restrict all predictions for the future. Fears and insecurity is pointless stressful thinking. The only time I consider the future is for the purpose of personal practical responsibility or under the law. I refuse to distress myself with future imaginings. 6. The quality of my life is a direct result of the quality of my thinking. I get to maintain and manage my thoughts on a daily basis. I do this through gratitude. I also do it by being a definite part of the human solution. I work every day to improve the life experience of all those I meet. I use humour, laughter, positivity, appreciation, creativity, wonder and curiosity to keep life interesting both for myself and others. I am very good at being happy in my ' now'. Happiness is a choice. It takes a lot of effort to be miserable! "Happiness is an attitude born from gratitude". Jason, I noticed you were very much trapped in your negative views of existence. I see a man drowning in hopelessness. Allow me to try to point you out of that dark cloud towards the light. You are incorrect to say that one little mistake makes you as bad as the people who have been dedicated to acting out on their defects. There is noone on the planet who is perfect! Every human has defects. I see in you a man who does try hard to take care of his side of the street, you are only missing one thing. When you do slip and a defect appears then the one thing that keeps your integrity intact is owning it. So..... If after taking personal inventory you say to yourself " Jason, you were wrong to behave that way" then you must simply make amends. You go to that person and tell them " Hey, I need to make an amends to you. I said things in the heat of the moment that on reflection I know made me wrong. I dont expect you to forgive me, but it would be nice if you did. I just wanted you to know I own my behaviour and I apologise". By doing this you demonstrate yourself as a developing human being. You lead from the front by showing others the right way to behave. Humility is a very powerful asset to have. Practice humility where appropriate and you WILL keep your integrity. No one can accuse you of being a terrible person or being a terrible worker. I truly hope my input inspires some positivity! Write back ok?

You can get those "Tire thumpers" without issue, but they can be sketchy in quality, I got one once and the lead shaft flew out the front. Feel you on this- and situations like this are really serious. In 2012, I had a situation sort of similar to the one you're talking about at the 30:00 mark happen. It was a kid from a group home who I had never met or seen in my life. She had run away and was hiding and apparently saw me walking by, made up a CRAZY story to tell the staff when they found her, and next thing I know I was sitting in the back of a police car. I didn't even know what I was doing there until the next morning before my arraignment - when I was allowed to read the report. It was unbelievable-- it didn't even make any sense to me until months later that the whole thing was based on the made up story of a child who had been through traumatic experiences, thought she was going to get in trouble at that group home, had been in trouble the entire day, had a history at that group home of making up stories about adults... and I had to spend time in prison, then on house arrest, waiting for 1 1/2 years for the D.A. to finally drop the charges. And later, I found out that by the time my legal nightmare was over, the child had completely forgotten about the entire thing and told different stories every time she was asked. GOOD thinking about not letting them come inside, and for letting the kid hang out in a safe environment, and for assisting him home.. The thought of what could have happened to that kid is sickening. Considering the fact you say you've already had a brush with nasty accusations, it was also very brave of you. I also try to stay away from environments where there are a lot of poorly-watched after children... sorry for the length of this comment but wow, that story really kinda struck a nerve.

I used my dad's stereo and plugged into the headphone jack with it switched on the auxiliary back in the day. I kinda figured that wood looked a little thin, maybe find a good speaker in a cabinet and use that? just drill some holes for your plugins and controls and install the electronics. No worries, I've gotten big ideas that sound good and look good on paper... but won't work. You're a smart n crafty dude you can figure somethin out... never give up.

3:53 - I love this, especially since you said IBS (made me chuckle since I have it). But yeah what you're saying is so true. I'm tired of hearing mental illness diagnoses being used as adjectives, whether it's "oh, that person is so bipolar" because they are dramatic and moody. I've had a diagnosis of major depressive disorder since I was nine (now 38). I've been put on so many different meds, I don't know what it's like to be unmedicated anymore. The only reason I don't give them up is that I think they keep me from hitting my absolute lowest - to the point of DOING something about it.

I have IBS too, I just don't like talking about it, you're braver than I am being open about it. I have to take an anti depressant & medicine for panic attacks, I've been on a countless list of medications as well for mental health issues, I don't think I could hang in there without the anti depressant & that's ok I just have something wired wrong & have to find ways to cope trying not to dwell or sleeping or just waiting for it to be more tolerable to make peace with the breaks I get. I hide a lot from people what I'm dealing with. I've done something about the clinical depression that made sense while under it's influence, it only made things worse, as hard and futile as it can seem/be it's best to keep going. Thanks for commenting, I don't mean to preach, I don't want someone I'll most likely never see again going away without sharing something that may help. I find telling myself it's not a solution the best thing to keep me grounded when it gets real bad, trying to drown it out, I hope that helps.

@theroomofhiddenpredispositions
@theroomofhiddenpredispositions 3 ай бұрын
I like two types of swords, one is a rapier sword and the other is a Chinese sword with a lot of symbolism in the way it's made. If you have the money there's a traditionally made Chinese sword with some modern improvements, it's made by a man named Scott M. Rodell, I've personally owned one but it is kinda pricey. It's called a Cutting Jian, double edged and hard to get used to but very effective once you do. If you look up Scott Rodell here on KZfaq he's very knowledgeable about swordsmanship and has a bunch of videos, he's down to earth and interesting to listen to and to watch demonstrating things without talking down to you he's a cool guy. Rapier swords are limited in movement but you can get really skilled with practice, that's honestly my favorite type but getting an authentic one would cost a fortune so I've used a cheap one until it broke ha. The lord of the rings sword you like would be cool to put on display and swing around, but it might break with any practice hitting things, so if you keep that in mind and just want to have it why not. I'm just kinda overwhelmed by people lately, so apologies not responding about trying to be friends, I've not responded to anyone for a while and it kinda bothers me but if I can respond to one person that's not going to stop me. I personally don't mind an age gap when it comes to being friends with someone but it can cause problems with other people then accusations get thrown around so I hope you understand, that and I'm just too overwhelmed as it is. I hope you find some friends you like at some point, it is healthy just don't let anyone treat you bad and make sure they respect your boundaries. This channel is still up so if you still want to watch my dumb videos they're here, I'm just not very social. :)
