Always thought this sounded like the Doors if they were a punk band.

He looks like old bloke who repaired my window a few years ago. First time he visited he looked a bit bohemian for a workman, second time less so. Looked mildly exasperated when i criticised what he was doing. Window since replaced.

This actually sounds like Neu!! Jonathan Richmond idolised Lou Reed. The two obvious forerunners of Punk were The Velvet Underground and The Stooges.

@kelechi_77 I'm from Boston and worked at the Rat, knew Jonathan very well, he made 3 versions in "72" I was lucky enough to get a copy of the rock version, he had about 20 of them, the recording before the final release, I should have explained more I guess.

Oh that doubled up quicktime guitar staccato chording and those gestural guitar chord shapes near the composition's catherine wheel crescendo lets fly like a Zen ink splash of a Franz Klein action painting. Like the VU get cranked up and really gas groovy, playing a live date on the TV show Shindig along with The Nickerbockers or the Box Tops and MC'd by da Groovy Guru (played so brilliantly by Larry Storch in that flip city episode of Get Smart).☆☆☆☆☆

I'm amazed to see this guitar here. It seems to be the same classical I have. Same size, colour and detailing. I'm only noticing it on a second viewing. I had to keep checking, but it all matched, down to the the yellow line of decoration on the headstock and the pattern around the hole. At first I was only looking at Richman's because I was jealous of it and then I realised in disbelief that I sort of maybe didn't need to be. The label inside mine says it's an Antoria Classic. I got it a couple of years ago in a charity shop in Lewisham, London for £40. I wondered if I was making a mistake as the action was high (the strings were too far off the neck) and there was no truss rod that I could see to adjust it, but I loved its sound and the way it looked. I took it into my local guitar place to see what they could do and they said it would cost £100 to fix and it wasn't worth it because it was a low-quality guitar. It's validating to find that this 'low-quality' guitar I liked was good enough for Jonathan Richman. The weird thing is, just today, before I made this discovery, I considered getting rid of the thing along with some other stuff I was taking to charity, but when I played it again, I still liked it too much. Not sure if this sounds believable, but it's true: there was a carpenter where I live rehanging a door and putting up some shelves. I asked him if he knew anything about guitar woodwork and he said no, but he had a neighbour who did: an old guy who fixes them in a shed in his garden and he'd give me his number. It's like it's fate, all this coming together at once, but we'll see. I'll report back on whether the guitar fixer fixes my guitar.
