At least it's now looking like there is something wrong with the RB20. It's been unstable since Miami and it was painfully evident in Spa when Checo couldn't even defend against Lewis in the straight. Like, this is Checo, who famously backed up Lewis in Abu Dhabi 2021 and slowed him down 7 seconds in 2 laps! He battled with Fernando for a photo-finish end just a few months ago in Brazil. Everybody's blaming the driver when it was mostly the car (and the brakes). Nobody's saying Gasly, Ocon, Albon, Zhou, and Bottas are similarly awful drivers - it's their cars. Why can't he get the same treatment as well when even Max is finding it hard to win?

To all those people that say his not a good driver, you have absolutely no clue what you are talking about. Look what happened to all of max's partners, all good drivers, all lost their mind in that team. Imagine, in your job, having someone working next to you, doing the exact same job, and leaving you in the dust every single time. What do you think will happen to your mindset ? How about motivation? Yeahh, it must be kinda fucked up to take rb 2nd seat. "They would run only one car if they could" - Checo's words

Perez is a midfield driver who happened to get a drive in the most dominant car of all time. Now the car is the 2nd fastest on the grid it’s revealed just how average he is. I’ll never understand why people compare him to the likes of valterri bottas or ruebens barrichelo for GOAT teammate status.

Moving to McLaren was actually a great decision. Look at them now, they have arguably the best car on the grid at the moment. The only problem is that he couldn’t perform there and it’s as simple is that. And it’s not about the car, the best drivers should be able to adapt to car’s characteristics. The way Carlos, Lando and Oscar did and Daniel just couldn’t do that

He said his issue at Red Bull was things out of his control like the Renault engine that RB used at the time only to leave when Max beat him 249-170 in points to go to.. Renault which is the exact issue he had a problem with. He knew Max was better and ran from the fight.

You can tell eveytime he’s asked he wishes he was back in that RB. It’s a shadow he can’t escape. He needs to be thrown in a good car to see him again. Solid guy I ate dinner with him in Monaco at Beefbar. Hoping they switch him out with Perez. The 2024 season is pretty much over for Perez a mid season switch would be best for the constructors since Perez is out of WC. For 2025 I’m not sure what will happen he might go to Williams or another team. RB has nothing lose if they promote him up and it would be for his best chance to stay in F1

Great video! It should not be forgotten that Patrese was later exonerated from blame for the accident at Monza. For years I and others bought into the version of the unspeakable Hunt that Patrese was to blame. I believe it was Autosprint which later published a photo showing Patrese ahead of Hunt before the accident. It is conceivable that Hunt took umbrage at Patrese’s “ jumping the start” and wanted to “teach him a lesson”. Andretti was heartbroken and later recorded as ashamed once the scapegoating of Patrese by Hunt was revealed as such. It could be that a spare 79 with a strengthened footwell would have reduced Ronnie’s injuries, and certainly a competent starter would have waited until all cars had stopped on the grid. Ronnie could not use Mario’s spare car due to their appreciable height difference. Sadly, Ronnie’s career ended at Monza where he had had much success. I witnessed a number of his races in the ‘70s and can agree that he possessed unique car control - and with a good car on the day was peerless! Ronnie RIP. 🙁

The Ferrari 6 cylinder was completely new, not derived from an F1 engine. They did set fastest lap in practice as well as the race. Enzo was flexing - trying to show that his team could develop a totally new 6 cylinder car in a few months to beat the British and Germans sixes - not to mention his ex chief engineer Columbo, at Maserati. If Ferrari had continued to develop the 375 Plus/412S model they probably would have extended their domination at Le Mans. Ferrari's F1 cars at the time were 4 cylinders which were not as effective in the 2.5 formula as they had been in the 2.0.

Everyone commenting that going to Renault was a huge mistake shows a complete lack of empathy and life experience. "Running from a fight with max" is such a stupid thing to say when it was clear that Red Bull was clearly favouring Max for the future, and the feeling that the team you're with isn't fully supporting you... that's fucking rough. Sometimes in life you need to make a change to get to a better place, mentally and emotionally. Maybe he could have still made it work with Red Bull, but to say that he should have never left... I think that really shows a lack of understanding where the guy was at in 2018.

It wasn't for money! Daniel wanted all the spotlight for himself. He couldn't stand the fact that a young man was better than him. He thought that by moving to Renault he would be the star again. He thought that his skills alone would be enough to win. When things were developing he decided to leave. That was his biggest mistake.

Very good video. I think Kvyat as Albon,Gasly,Tsunoda,De Vries are all victim of Verstappen influence at Red Bull. The care was created to suit Max and is very difficult for the other to drive. We see Tsunoda going nowhere with this team, keeping a very bad Perez in the RB seat and even a worst Dan Ricciardo at RB because they dont want to upset Verstappen family.

That's a nice video. There is a film Ronnie Peterson The SuperSwede made in 2016 in which we can see all his career,it's in Swedish, but there are people who speak in English(former team mates rivals he raced against,Andretti,Lauda,Fittipaldi,Watson,Stewart etc) and it features some great insights that are not well known. For instance:in 1978 he agreed to be the no 2 driver at Lotus behind Andretti, even though he was much faster, the team put more fuel in his car for qualifying or put race tyres on his car just to be slower than Mario. Still I don't know why you've chosen in the video some Grand Prix like Monza 1973 and 1978,yes he won there 3 times and also had his fatal crash, but there was much more,in 1971 he finished 2nd in the Championship in his first full season in F1.In 1973 he was very unlucky due to car's reliability,9 poles and led so many races until the final laps when something happened to the car,he could have been World Champion that year. Also important that he wasn't great at setup the car,Chapman often asked him about the car's behavior but he didn't know what to say and he often used Fittipaldi or Andretti's setups and put the car on pole.

Gunnar Nilsson (another Swedish racing-driver and friend with Ronnie) once said in an interview that Ronnie could have won lots of more races. But in Lotus he was the second driver behind Mario Andretti. Gunnar Nilsson said that one time he saw Ronnie jump up from his car and throw his helmet in the tarmac in anger. Despite finishing second after Mario. Most drivers would be ecstatic over a double victory for the team. But Ronnie told Gunnar later that he had strict orders to not cross the finish-line before Mario, because if he did? Mario had threaten to quit from Lotus. Ronnie was fast and Mario was definatly not going to be any second driver. Gunnar Nilsson died just 1 month later after Ronnie in cancer.

People underestimate his age too. He's already 35. His young fearless attitude has gone. This new generation might be the best prepared generation of all time, with the amount of feeder series and lifelike simulators, and he falls outside of that genetation. He's right inbetween the Hamilton/Vettel generation and the Verstappen/Leclerc generation. And maybe Ricciardo was never true championship material in the first place like Hamilton or Vettel or Alonso. There's no denying his talent and abilities especially during 2014-2017 but maybe it wasnt because of raw talent like these world Champions, maybe it was because of his fearlessness, which will always reduce the older you get (especially if you have children or a family; that really slows drivers down because it makes them conscious of death)
