Just had this video pop-up and it is Fabulous! I’ve just Subscribed and will checkout you cutting video next. I have ScanNCut and Cricut machines and can’t wait to try this out. Looks like you might be using a Bernina machine, what foot is the 52 and why did you choose it? Can you please advise on thread weight, needle size and stitch lengths? I have a ton of supplies and excited to try making one. Thanks!😁💯🎉
@ChrisWDesigns19 күн бұрын
The 52 Bernina foot has a non stick sole plate. I like to use it on things like cork, vinyl etc. I mostly use Aurifil cotton wt 40 thread but will use polyster or a polyster blend dressmaking thread if thats what I have in a suitable colour. I would use a 14 size jeans needle on this and stitch length usually 3.2 to 3.4. Hope this helps!

I have a scanning cut I download the SVG file for some reason when I go to scan and cut grab the SVG file to download it to the machine it's not grabbing am I doing something wrong what am I doing wrong
@ChrisWDesigns26 күн бұрын
have you unzipped the file first?
@encarnacionada226 күн бұрын
@@ChrisWDesigns yes I unzipped it's saying the image is larger than the mat it reduced the image but still nothing happens 🤔 I went the other route printed out the pattern scan it is now in my cut file ready to be cut
@ChrisWDesigns26 күн бұрын
@@encarnacionada2 it won't fit on a 12X12 mat, only a 12 X 24. The Printed pattern pieces need to be joined before scanning and cutting and they still won't fit on a 12 X 12 mat. I assume that is what you are using if it says it is larger than the mat.
@ChrisWDesigns26 күн бұрын
I'm not sure what you mean by "it's not grabbing".

Hi Chris, a fabulous idea ! I will buy and try , thank you . Sorry to hear about your shoulder, I had a steroid injection in mine, which has worked well, might be an option? Cheers, Bridget
@ChrisWDesignsАй бұрын
Thank you Bridget. I have heard about that and been thinking about the steriod injection as a possibility. Nice to know it worked well for you. If it doesn't settle soon I will for sure look into it. I've been going to the chiropractor getting ultrasound treatment on it and doing the ice/hot pack thing but the Chiropractor thinks I may have torn the tendon....in which case it takes a LONG time to heal....I hope NOT! The only way to find out is have an ultrasound but that won't change anything.

So clever! I hate wallets, so I add card slots to all my bags. This is so much better. And so versatile. It would be great in a backpack, laptop bag, pool bag, farmers market tote, I pad case, etc. Great job!

It usea a combination of sewing and glue. The glue stops the edges from comiing apart and looking ugly but you could ake it with only sewing if you would prefer.
@fionaezzy7719Ай бұрын
Hi. Love this tutorial. Can you please advise what glue you use ? I'm presuming it doesn't gum up your needle. What size needle too please ? And where do you get your snaps, and from where please? Sorry for all the questions 😊
@ChrisWDesignsАй бұрын
Thank you. I use a permanent fabric glue which dries fast. It will depend on your location as to what brand might be available to you....and no, when it is dry, it doesn't gum up the needle. I usually use a size 14 Jeans needle for these. The snaps I use are from a supplier I bought from ages ago. They are no longer operational however I think you can buy metal KamSnaps. Google will help with that. :)

I'm been very intrigued by the "zipper overlay concept". Was wondering if you need to use leather type fabric to make one? Or can the same concept be used with fabric? Looks like a great pattern and I'm definitely gonna try it. Hope someone responds to question about the zipper overlay. Also don't have a cutter/cricket tool yet either. Thanks from Gloria in Baltimore, MD.
@ChrisWDesigns2 ай бұрын
Hi Gloria, It is designed for fabric that doesn't fray, such as cork (my Favourite) leather or vinyl etc. You do not need a cutting machine. They just make the job quicker but a PDF template for cutting by hand works just fine. Many of my testers do them by hand. :)

Loving what I have seen so far Christine. Question, I noticed when you were sewing the piping, the bulk of the fabric was to the centre of the machine, not left as normal. Is that for a purpose? To keep it more stable perhaps?
