The tension and nervous chatter accompanied by heavy breathing distracts from the lesson that might be learned. Just one guy’s opinion!

I’m a new artist and just started to teach myself acrylic painting and this video is AMAZING! You covered pretty much everything one needs to know about acrylic. Awesome job! Thank you 😊

Can you go into more detail as to why this painting “might work better” with these changes? How are the colors better choices?

Great encouragement and very wise words, Jed and Peter! Nothing comes without work. That old saying, "it takes 5% inspiration & 95% perspiration" really applies to our lives as artists... The attitude and mindset we come to this with is crucial. It will help tremendously if we can embrace the entire journey with a positive outlook! We end up wearing SO many hats as we learn about how to tackle the areas of business: technical aspects, marketing, finances, communication, fulfillment, meeting deadlines, etc., but all that we absorb along the way will stretch and grow us. It's part of the process-not just the creating. (Spoken from an artist that has been publishing illustrated educational materials for the past 22 years and has dealt with PLENTY of blood, sweat, and tears along the way! lol!)

I would like professional critiques... I feel a painting is good, but I know I need to take it up a level...before I think its ready to offer for sale..

Why not use Alizarin Crimson instead of Magenta?

If the painting was varnished, can you still sand it and apply gesso?

This technique adds a sense of reality to the picture. Because I can see once you finish this layer. Hitting it with some highlights to make the colors pop give light sources. Yeah, this is good.

1:02:40 I thought I added a comment earlier. Guess not….I came across this video Jed and it is mesmerizing! I took some screen shots through the process and hope to put some of your ideas into a painting soon! The,patience you have for mixing and making so many brush strokes is amazing. I was wondering where you were going when you first started out, but obviously you knew the way! Fantastic! My favourite I’ve seen of yours so far!❤️❤️❤️. Thank you for sharing your talent with us!

Does anyone know what that little container is that he has his paint in? And is it airtight enough for fluid paints?
