Superb film. Best Jim Carrey perf ever for me. Kate Winslet nails everything. Gondry at his cinematic best supported by Kaufman's intriguingly beautiful script. So much to learn from and admire in this film.

I love how drawn back he seems in this interview… Like in a lot of his newer ones and ones for movies it sort of feels like he's playing a character, but this feels like you're just talking to him, really just him

Really wishing Tarantino offered Gary a role in any one of the movies he directed. He had to be impressed with his performance in the movie, even if he wasn't really happy with the movies overall initially

These are two men who are (were) at the pinnacle of their craft. Awe inspiring creation and performance. Little did we realize then that Paul Dano was also just beginning to demonstrate his acting genius.

In case you were wondering. This actor was the inspiration for another character "I know who I am! I'm a dude, playing a dude, disguised as another dude!"

There are certain people that I grew up admiring, that I wish were still alive. I have no question that humanity would be better if they were still around. Stanley is one of them.

Love to see Orson actually being happy talking about a film of his like this. This was my fav Orson Welles film as a teenager, though I've since come to appreciate Kane just a bit more, I guess.

The MAGA movement is based on a lie, and the lie is that white culture is superior to everything else, but the truth is white culture only looks better than everything else because right wing white people lie about themselves and everyone and everything else; if all you ever do is make movies about white people it looks like white people are SO interesting, but they are only interesting in a vacuum wherein they deny everyone else representation.

Lewis is so amazing.. I think his performance somewhat overshadows just how well Paul Dano held his own when sharing the screen.

Hoffman was one of my favorite actors. And his death still bothers me. I know he was sober for a long time. It’s just sad because I believe he was a good guy and had so much to give the world. He’s really missed 🙏❤️

Charlie Rose - the worst interviewer the world ever saw. No direction, constant interruptions, just chaos. He doesn't even know how to ask a straight question. Mumbles a statement and expects the guests to confirm and elaborate.

The trick with the chair, described at 6:15, was pulled into the screenplay of "Fanny and Alexander" (1982, but the script was written in 1979). Late on Christmas night, the father and rather unsuccessful actor Oscar tells his children and brother's children about the wonderful, magic chair that has come down from ancient Eqypt and after thousands of years of adventures has landed in the kids' chamber of the Ekdahl family - and then he proceeds to poke fun at his own trick. The kids are equally delighted with both parts of the performance.... :)
