I bought mine at the thrift store today and the nipple in the tray is missing/broken

The belt malfunctioned causing the brush role to crack through the plastic housing around it. I do not think it is fixable

Maybe you should have put some 3 in 1 motor oil on the bearing to lubricate it when you were fixing your sharpener.

How often do you clean the Pencil shavings tray I will be getting this on Saturday? :-)

Mine was not working because of the tension spring popped out and I lost the pin screw it had. I’m going to rig something for it

Heat the belt up with boiling hot water and put it on. So you don't have to take the gear apart.

Excellent video! Short and to the point. I like how you explained everything in a way you could understand and in a very friendly/patient voice. It was oddly relaxing, an ASMR feel even. Your cat probably thought you were working on opening a can of tuna, wondering why it was taking you so long to open it. 😂 Thanks for the helpful video!

I was about to give up trying to fix it, especially since I thought I bought the wrong belt size and then I ran across your video and it was the right side that snapped!! Thank you!

One thing to add to this EXCELLENT video is that there is a second smaller belt at the other end of the roller that drives the front brush. When reseating the main roller make sure it gets inserted into that second belt. That belt is not under tension so you shouldn't have to remove it's panel. My vac works great, but I now hate the company for this.

Thanks for the video. The bigger roller was moving, but with great difficulty. The red light was coming on after a few seconds. The problem ended up being gunk/dirt/etc being stuck on the end of the roller inside the housing. It had built up so it was impinging the movement of the roller. It would move but only with extra manual force. Once I watched your video it helped me know how to get the parts apart. (Shark sure makes it hard to repair their stuff. Part of their business model it looks like. As a result next time we buy a vacuum it will definitely not be a Shark.) I was able to get it all cleaned up and functioning properly - but only after watching this video and going to home depot to buy the specialized tool that it requires due to the very specialized screws Shark uses. Thanks

Thanks for the video! I wish I had watched it before I took my AZ1002 head completely apart! Anyway, my front roller belt was broken, so I ordered the set of 3 from your link, plus a new aftermarket soft roller. I watched another video from a repair shop about the manufacturer. While it is true you cannot buy any internal parts from them and they do wear out, I must admit it is the best vacuum I have ever had, and over the last 50 years, I have worn out many! A couple of the “best of 2023” reviews still list this type of vacuum as the best for hardwood, tile, and carpet! I tend to fix, not throw away appliances.

You are awesome and this was an incredibly helpful video. I have the exact same pencil sharpener and it's about 7 years old. Two months ago it stopped working and starting making the humming noise. I thought about buying a new one but decided to try fixing it first and found your video. I now have a fully functional pencil sharpener again. Thanks so much!

Your video was exactly what I needed! I to have the easy 1002 vacuum cleaner and the belts I ordered on Amazon was close to the gates model you had said. Mine was HTD 153-3M. I too started to take all the screws off the bottom, and then I realize I may not get to where I needed to go so then I googled for information and found your Thanks a lot good job
