Hi Chris when you update you will find the on of button change it's faster you will do a short press on the button and roll the roller to confirm instint and other updates such as green warning screen flash should be the same as my NX10 cheers Rick

Thanks Rick, I will do an update today, I do have to shorten the sticks as the body does seem to be thicker. If I am blown away by Spektrum, then I guess it will be the NX10 or IX14, not sure what one is better. Have a great day and week ahead. 🫡

I was surprised it did not have a voice, cannot see that would bump the price much. Well I recon I can make the sticks shorter to counter the fat body of the radio, if I like the radio and safe, then I can look at a better one. Have a great day Jeff, happy flying 🫡

I had been looking for something more than 6ch and had seen this but I went with eBay and won auction got a dx8 gen 2 which I wanted one to do forward programming as I use the ar630 and others the one thing that put me off was the colour it would end up filthy with me lol mmmmm filthy as you would say in that grrrrrrr voice 😂I like voice to but I’ve never had a problem with spek I have nx6 which was my main transmitter I got some to put on eBay dx6e and dx6 v1 and few recivers just haven’t got round to it yet, people say I wouldn’t have safe but we spend a lot of money on these and if it can save you from going home with bits of your plane in bin liner it’s a win for me, big salute 🫡 bud , G🇬🇧

Yup agree with you, of course it’s better to fly without any restrictions, but until you get many hours under your belt and get used to the aircraft, then safe is a great idea. Like you say, sometimes the aircraft and all the bits are more money than the transmitter. I will put shorter screw things on the sticks, this will counter the fat body. If I like the radio and safe, then I will look for a better version. Nothing wrong with a bit of dirty 😎. Weather looking better now, so I hoping to fly soon. Have a great day 🫡

Nice video, nice looking radio... My radio journey has been a long one too, starting with Futuba, FRSKY, DJI RC1 & RC2, TBS Mambo, and now Radiomaster... The TBS Mambo is my favourite radio of all of them and probably the cheapest too... I do have a Spektrum radio for my helicopters but is a fairly old one... Its so hard to find the perfect radio...

Wow going from a FrSky X20s to that! Surely that’s a backwards step? Be interested to see what you think when you fly with it. Good luck anyway. Also you can just use an FrSky SRx receiver, it’s the same as Safe no?

The trouble is, I can never set up the FRSky SR properly, even the FMS reflex I have issues with. I wanted a relative cheap Spektrum to test Safe. I guess we see where I will go after the first use. I have flown with Futaba and Spektrum and have got to say Spektrum transmitters are far more user friendly and I love being able to set SAFE and AS3X up with forward programming from the radio!! So convenient, one thing I will say though is make sure you keep the lipo balance lead away from the receiver antennas!! And keep it away from the antenaless receivers as well, You have been warned Lol Any range test failings I've had have always been to do with that pesky balance lead. Your radio looks very nice, lots of lovely 3 position switches, but no voice!! That's scandalous, I think that's a mistake by Spektrum, especially if it's aimed at intermediate pilots, the call out for switches, and timer countdown are 2 things I've come to rely on!! Hope you get used to the feel of it and it does the job for you Chris 😀👍

Yup I think they messed up with no Audio voice, knowing spektrum it will be an add on 😂. Thank you Ian for the info about the antennas, I will be sure to make sure they are away from the balance lead. I do need to shorten the sticks as the body does feel thick, I not sure if this is the same for all the Spektrum radios. All I need now is the planets to align and give me some good dry flying weather. Hope you both are well and moving on in life 🙏🏻. Have a great day and week ahead to you both. 🫡

It was more for the SAFE with foamies and wind. I kinda fed up waiting for 5mph gusts. With my balsa nitro I do not need any gyros, they just chew up the sky, will until a tree jumps in the way 😂. I really like Ethos, but can never get the gyro RX versions to work properly, so it will be interesting to see how SAFE works. Have a great day and week ahead 🫡.

I flew DSM-X with my JR X9503 for years when everyone was switching over to Spektrum. Everyone over here across the pond flies Spektrum. If you fly Futaba or FrSky then your a bit of a black sheep. I keep the RadioMaster TX16S for binding to E-Flight planes. That NX7e is a sexy transmitter for sure. Spektrum products are very user friendly and they have cornered the market on user-ability. But I'm hooked on my Futaba 18MZ and my X20S FrSky. Congrats on your new transmitter Pops! Maybe if it was orange 🤔

Hi, each knob. An be used for program, to start or reset a timer. To change flight modes etc. it means the radio can control 7 channels in an aircraft. I hope this has helped.

@@DadsRCHangarI guess I'm confused as to how it's limited to 7 channels when they're is way more controls. What prevents me from programming one of the extra switches to control another servo on the plane if I had like a 8 channel receiver? Are some switches dedicated to tx functions only? Or you can spend $30 less and buy a FrSky X18. So save money and :: -You get hall effect gimbals -You get voice alerts -You get full programming power to whatever you want or will grow into -You get switch assignability -You get a touch screen -You get way more switches and sliders -You get a bigger battery -You get a dual diversity antenna (2.4ghz and 900mhz) -You get rubber grips and probably even more that I don't know about. The main negative (well, not a negative to me) is that you can't bind to eflite toys. Basically for $299, this NX7e is a completely overpriced for features by a long shot, this radio shouldn't even be a penny over $150 for what you are getting.
