never got the hate. The OG pulse rifle is like god tier if you’re good with it. Fully upgraded it carries 175 rounds and you can kill most necromorphs with less than 15 so it becomes the only weapon capable of room clearing without reloading. You have to remember not to aim at the body, aim at the limbs, and ignore head shots because they’re not worth anything. Even on upper difficulty, the problem I have with it is I’m always out of ammo.

edit: i cannot believe you didn't mention the sadistic serial killer noble daughter this is probably my favorite RPG ive ever played. the characters are so fleshed out, the moral discussions are so juicy, and the story is so moving to me personally. there is something very tragic about a mother trying desperately to bring back her child, going to the point of destroying the world for them. also daeran's romance is the best in any game i've played.

I remember playing this game on the 360 and hearing the birds chirping when I went to the green outdoors. It sounded SO realistic throughout the room!

I loved the aircraft in this game. They were so much fun to use. Reminded me of the much maligned C&C Generals which I seem to have the unpopular opinion of really liking.

I rocked that bad boy on my ATI Rage 3D 4MB card back in the day. It worked until my fleet got too big. Then I upgraded to the 3DFX Voodoo3 2000 16MB card and it was a beauty. I remember too many odd things.
