I’ve looked everywhere for a video like this. Thank you for uploading the vid, definitely solidified my decision to purchase the m1. Quick question though, do you happen to know just how small and tight the engravings can be without the details getting muddled up on silicone? I cannot find a single video that has anything smaller than a dog tag sized engraving. Thanks again for your video!

I have a hat press, but i have issues with the press leaving wrinkles in the front of the hat and getting the hat to sit properly while pressing.This process looks like a better way to apply patches. What heat setting do you have your gun set at?
@coleminorkustoms859421 күн бұрын
I use a heat gun that only has 2 settings, high and low. I use the low settings. The idea thing is to heat the patches up enough so the adhesive starts looking like a liquid and the edges start to curl. Then place it on the hat as quickly as possible and firmly press. Then reheat the patch on the hat and press again with your palm. I have a more in depth video on my page feel free to check it out. This version does allow you of not having press marks on the hats.

Thanks I will give this a try. Where did you get the LEDS for it? Also did you use the sandpaper after all?
@coleminorkustoms8594Ай бұрын
Try out LMC truck parts for the LEDs. The sandpaper I used was 1000 grit to 2000 then 3000 and then I polished it out with a 3M 2 stage kit.

I typically keep my lpcm at 100. If my logo or image has a lot of detail I may go up to 200 lpcm .

when it finishes engraving, do you clean the ash off, and if so what technique do you use? Everytime I go to clean it off, it tends to get the area on the leather that was not engraved slightly dirty from wiping in that area. Just curious how you handle that.
@coleminorkustoms85942 ай бұрын
LA awesome works great to clean the leatherette. White leatherette is much harder to clean, so I suggest on the cutting perimeter to lower the power with faster cuts to help reduce the ash residue.

great Vid and thanks. I have tried your workflow and it just engraved the whole picture as a white square. whether its white or black . I just cant work it out what I am doing wrong.
@coleminorkustoms85943 ай бұрын
Make sure that your inverted picture has enough depth of black and white highlights. Your black details in the photo will be what engraves and the white portion of the picture should not engrave at all. I hope this helps.
@Dannos3d3 ай бұрын
@@coleminorkustoms8594 thanks for the reply. I have set up a pic in imagR and used material black slate. Bought that into XCS and its like it engraves exactly like the pic but the whites engrave and the blacks dont? I just cant figure it out. I followed what you do and its the same. I must have a setting wrong somewhere
@Dannos3d3 ай бұрын
I actually had one kind of work. I think the pic is still too bright. Almost over exposed.
@coleminorkustoms85943 ай бұрын
@@Dannos3d the white needs to be more white than gray, if it’s slightly gray at all it will engrave lighter causing the whole image to engrave, which gives you a blotchy engraved image.
