Dont forget the amazing storage in the doors. For a car this size the storage is amazing. Fun to drive and in the states they get a surprising amount of attention because no one has ever seen one.

Corolla E9 as GTi models are so hard to get these days and if you found one in +90% the ask price will mostly kill the rest. :D

None of the parts you've called "metal" are indeed metal. 1st, because of safety concerns for the occupants. 2nd, those are parts are all, without exception, painted plastic. If you hate the W176, don't even look at a W177. The centre console alone is fit to give a heart attack to anyone who tries to keep their car interior scratch fee.

I mean... It sounds pretty logical isn't it? Econ means you're doing economic driving, power is more "you're using too much fuel"

my 323F gtx does have the mazda logo inside and the steering wheel feels like a stressball but it's sturdy enough to stay together no matter how much you twist it

Dude, if you honestly believe that IF some heavy, sharp object "fell onto this box" hard enough to chop through it, yet "foam packing would still protect the wires"......then you need your head examined. Example: Wrap your head with foam, stick it in a cardboard box, lay on the ground, and have a friend smack it with an axe or sledge hammer........yeah, see how well "the foam protects your head from damage". F*cking guy is more interested in the damned box than he is the wires. I bet when you were a little kid, you loved playing with the carcboard boxes your new toys came in vs the toys themselves. 2 thumbs down.

Magnecor doesn't "pack the box with protective foam"........because there is no need for it.

My dad used to own one and boy did the engine like to rev, it was pure music to my little ears, sadly he sold it for a more modern car but it'll always have a place in my heart, it's definitely one of my dream cars and hopefully I'll be my first car

I drove my 1971 128's 1,116cc SOHC short stroke four (80mm bore, 55mm stroke) for nearly 200,000 miles over 11 years (195,000). This unassuming boxy 2door sedan felt like a sure-footed puma cat on a winding road. Even if the 145-13 tires started sliding, it was so balanced, you could easily slide all four wheels. Its 4-speeds had the revvy motor spinning at nearly 3,500 rpm at just 60mph, but it loved to rev (just make sure you changed the oil regularly). Low CG, lightweight, suspension aimed for cornering, well balanced. - now wonder it was a great rally car. Sure like most Fiats of that era, it earned its "Fix It Agan Tony" nickname, but just invest in a Haynes shop manual, and you can be the Tony (engine block weighed only 198lbs and trans was only 75 lbs!! (I just put the block in the trunk of another car to get it bored out.) Like working on a toy. Tiny on outside, but tons of space on inside. When it ran, it was always a joy and adventure. With a pipe its short stroke motor sounded like a Honda four racer (a sound that can't be replicated by any other production car (with their undersquare engines.). It was all about the fun of driving. Really miss it even decades later...

I almost bought one of these in high school, one of my biggest regrets in my younger years. It was that or a 89 c1500 OBS Chevy pickup, my sorry ass didn't even buy one because of other people's opinions and didn't want my sisters or my mother running off somewhere with my first car so I said fuck it. BIG REGRET. I will own one of these one day eventually tho

I love “Regular Car Reviews”, but he blew the review of the 190E by reviewing an overseas import instead of the US-spec model w/ 2.6L motor. He essentially reviewed it for what it wasn’t instead of what it was, and nothing ever gets a fair shake under those conditions. I do love the Baby Benz, though. Plenty of car for anyone.

I have daily driven a 77 Buick Skylark for the last 15 years and I wouldn't trade for a new car even if it was a even swap. I paid $800 for it from the "Little old lady next door" with a 307 and a 3 speed automatic and 57,000 original miles on it when she got too old to drive. All it needed was a good clean up and it was ready to go, I spent about $150 on that, so for less than $1000, not including inspection, tags and insurance. It now has a little over 200k on it and I'm going to yank the engine and trans over Memorial day weekend and my buddy from work and I are going to clean them up, paint them, rebuild them, and put them back in, I'm also considering throwing a quick paint job on it while It's not being driven and i'll probally replace the suspension bushing while I'm there. I've saved SO much money over the 15 years driving it because like you said, parts are everywhere because a 77 Skylark is the exact same car as a Chevy Nova, Pontiac Ventura and Oldsmobile Omega and there were millions of them sold plus it had a common engine and transmission and it never fails to make me smile. I even got my buddy from work, the one that's helping me rebuild the engine and trans, to drive a Classic too, 5 years ago he pulled his grandpa's 1980 F150 out of the barn and just drive it, His truck needed more work because it has been sitting for more than a decade but it was still alot cheaper than buying a brand new car when the 2005 Dodge Stratus he was driving started nickel and diming him to death because of parts wearing out, but considering he started off with a free truck it was even cheaper but still wasn't as cheap as mine, he put like 4k in it but he did a deep dive in his truck, replaced all the suspension and body bushing, rebuilt the engine and trans, sandblasted and painted the frame and had to replace the seat vinyl, but still for 3k he has a vehicle that is going to last him forever and makes him smile every time he drives it. There's more reasons to daily drive a classic car, first off everyone knows who you are, including the cops, who will more than likely let you out a ticket because they like your car, there's also joining a car club, noone's letting you join a car club if your driving a brand new Kia Sorrento or Toyota Camry, but drive a 77 Skylark or a 1980 F150 and they seek you out.
