I've been rving full time for almost 10 years and I can tell you as an absolute, you are never safe. What you are is unaware of what danger is possible or likely. You can only change the area you're staying if it has a higher or lower instance of crime. That doesn't make you safe, it only lowers the likelihood that something will happen to you. But even in a low crime area, read the police blotter for the night before in that area. Unbelievable things happened somewhere in that area, just not to or near you. Should you be paranoid? Yes. Paranoia, if not clinical, is merely hyper awareness. Be hyper aware if you don't like the "sound" of paranoid. But know, they are the same thing. Just to let you know, I've had nothing happen to me in these past 10 years.

That was a schizophrenic that slipped into psychosis - that is when they go on stabbing spree's etc, always call police. That said, walmarts are too busy to stay at IMO, busiest parking lots in town. Get all the apps and use those options instead, the US has cracker barrels that are WAY better than walmarts, stayed at 5-6 of them last winter

@KevinWaldsAdventures5 күн бұрын
I agree, I’m local here and stay for convenience, 1 min stroll to my gym in the morning, Then a 10 min drive to work. I have a lot of other spots but this is too convenient and it’s a small town Walmart in northern Alberta, find lots of travelers heading to Yukon/alaska.

Kevin, No matter where you are it is best to never open your door at night. There are tons of great people but there are also many people who are troubled….in today’s world we can’t take chances. Call the police, for sure, that is their job. Also, by calling the authorities you could be saving the life of someone heavily affected by drugs. Use that wise head you clearly have and know there are lots of us out here who pray for you. Dave

I think you have a good head on your shoulders and are quite talented at thinking a situation through, arriving at the most common sensical plan, and following it. i do hope, however, that your encounters with occasions like this are few and far between. Congratulations on the sale of your old camper, Buy a large blank page album and put stickers in that. Thank you for sharing some of your adventures with us. I quite enjoy your videos.

Hi Kevin, I have always worried about you being in your camper van and someone does that to you mate. My friend she's a girl on a narrowboat some person starting moving things around outside she could hear them, now she maybe on her own but she went on You tube and got a rottweiler dog to bark and put her speaker on full, well it shifted him he ran so fast went across the bridge and fell in the canal he thought the dog was after him instead of looking where he was going, frost night falling in the canal is not a good idea. He never came back, but she moved her boat a couple of days later just to be safe, and now thankfully she moors her boat where there are others and not on her own. Keep safe mate ❤ Until next time X X X

Hey sue, i read that suggested idea a while ago, so i then downloaded a bunch of dog barking apps. Problem i found is that those recorded dog barks where to short of a recording so u would have to play it again, n u could tell no dog barks like that, because the recordings were very aggressive barks. The real dog's aggressive bark doesn't just stop bluntly like that and repeat the same intensity after two barks 🙄, so disappointing. Glad your girlfriend had one that worked for her. Me, I think i need to record someone's big dog barking longer than 5 seconds, so it sounds more realistic. 🍻

U see anything sketchy again always video it, just in case u need to show cops...for any reason. If anybody knocks at my door at night, I ain't answering, ever. Unless it's the men in blue n then I'd be looking for their vehicle, first. ...(if not the blues), I'll be setting my trucks alarm off if it ever happens 😁. I like stickers, but not on my rig. If it's a nice one I'll wanna keep it. A magnet sticker? that won't work on the back of the camper. But I collect magnets even though nothing magnetic in/out of my rig lol. I debate on mounting a magnet bar inside camper 🤔. Years ago, pins only sold at ski shops, so got a bunch of those, then the magnets appeared 😃 lol. Oh and every campground has a train nearby so thy walmart fits right in! 😂 🍻

your price estimates of buying a descent truck and camper for $15K combined is a farce. Its true that a camper offers a lot more space and storage, but the new AWD vans are very capable and can access a lot of terrain. by the way, i own a truck and a camper.

Kevin, for those of us who have been following you the information about your power set up was fine. I do think showing your solar set up would be helpful to new viewers/subscribers who might find it helpful and interesting. Just a suggestion. I think it’s GREAT that you share camper life with your viewers who, like you, see paying rent or making house payments, as too burdensome and costly when other options are available. If I was younger I would be doing exactly what you have chosen. I think there is freedom in what you are doing. God bless. Dave

Keep the truck get a truck camper. You'll get better tank sizes in truck camper. 🍻
@KevinWaldsAdventures12 күн бұрын
depends how much you want to spend on a van and how much money you want to put into the truck, if the trucks still very reliable I would factor in $300 a month for maintenance ( that's high but better to budget high ) I paid $12500 for this camper and my last one was $9800, keeping the original truck can save you a lot but if your preference is a van then more the power to you and keep an eye on the market, deals are still out there! thank you for commenting!

Yipes ! A nice leakproof one pc fibre glass roof, and you’re popping holes in it for the solar. Lots of RV sealant I guess. Thinking that’s why Dustin, from Destination Adventure went with the flexible stick-on ones. I hate roof holes. Safe travels. 🍁🤙

👏 exciting solar /battery setup! The flooring on the step is actually very nice and u did a good job! but notice it is a walnut grey tone, (2 colours in it) u only have brown swirls on cushions n nothing else complimenting that nice new step. Look for flooring that has one colour of various tone. I hate the carpet on my step n under table. Pain in the ass to clean wished they just lino covered them too, i see the new NL now are all lino flooring. My point, ugh no don't put back carpet. I have a portable rug cleaner but what a fricken hassle I wish it had no carpet. Anyway leave it for now, it will give u time to ponder some other colour n pattern that u should redo the whole flooring with down the road, n chances are you'll find a less expensive one. 🍻

I think you’re right, I’m going to just keep on the hunt for the flooring that just goes much better and stay away from carpet!

Kevin, another great vlog. I like the fact that you are down-to-earth and that you aren’t fearful of trying new things. It sounds like your solar & battery system should be sufficient to meet your needs even in winter….at least from my experience. Take care of yourself and get out for some fun. Wishing you the best!
