How do I use these pedals either a boss ve 500 vocal processor. This unit is not in your midi dictionary. So it’s not do simple. Thanks

Boss devices do not have fixed CC numbers to control their functions. The CC numbers are use assigned on the device itself. As such they cannot be added to the MIDI Dictionary.

As long as your DAW accepts external MIDI and supports MIDI Learn/Map/Assign, it will work the same.

It would be nice in the future to set a switch in order to select and deselect an exp message, instead of just selecting everything. It allows you to add or remove a certain exp message, letting a paramiter to join the circus :)

Hello! Just ordered my MC6 Pro and can't wait to get it 🤘I have a question... I know I can activate a pedal tempo tap function using the relay output (the DD8 for example) but could I also use an expression pedal to control the DD8 through the MC6 Pro? Thank you and keep rockin' 🔥

This feature exists on the ML10X loop switcher and not the MIDI controllers. If you are controlling the ML10X with the older MC6, you can still use this feature.

Hi, I'm looking in to buying some midi cables for my new setup. I'm wanting to run a 5 pin midi out from my boss es8 to my Helix stomp. I then need to run 5 pin midi out from the stomp to 3.5mm midi in to my poly flat v pedal. From there I want to go out using 3.5mm out to 1/4 trs to my cloudburst. I'm hearing I might run in to some issues with the strymon if it's not opso isolator built in to the cable? Is there any advice and links you guys sell that you could give me so I know I'm buying what will work. Thanks, Robert

Some do and some don't. If you do experience noise, you can purchase Strymon's MIDI cable with the built-in isolator. So I've been researching (and buying) MIDI controllers to run my GTCORE. From what I've experienced thus far, other offerings (and i won't even say "low cost offerings," because Morningstar prices are super reasonable), none of them make it as straightforward as this. Just need to decide on which one.

As long as the device you want to control accepts MIDI, our controllers will be able to control it. It looks like the Catalyst line is MIDi capable. As long as the functions/parameters you want to control are MIDI-controllable, our controllers will work well for you.

I'm having problem with my Source Audio Collider. It has dual footswitch. One for delay and one for reverb. Problem is they're too close to each other. Can this switch pedal set it as only one of them to be turned on? Most switch I've tried make them both of them turned on because they're in one pedal.

That has change with the latest update so you can display one more preset/scene. Use D+E or E+F to exit preset mode and enter scene mode, and A+B to exit scene mode

I'm thinking of investing in one or more of your products, but I use Linux exclusively. I've seen that you use Chrome browsers to do the editing, can they also update the firmware or is specialized software (win/mac) needed?

Hi. You are able to update firmware via Chrome with the Morningstar Editor only for the MC6 PRO. All other devices will require to have a mac/win computer for updates.

I’ve been using your controllers for a little while now and am just discovering this feature. It’s super awesome considering I have so many MIDI pedals and jumping between the editor and the pedal (sometimes hidden features on Chase Bliss models) breaks my workflow. Is it also possible to activate/deactivate the custom bank sequence on the controller itself? Also: I'd love to see a feature where you can create a few different custom sequences and choose between them (in the editor, or on the controller itself).

That is not possible. However, if you have the MC6 PRO, you can have 8 controller profiles you can switch between on the hardware itself, effectively allowing you to have 8 custom sequences accessible via the controller standalone. Weird coincidence for me that I just got my board built with the MC6 Pro and was working on this very thing today. However when I used the custom bank sequence the same as described here, I ran into a small problem. I have buttons D and F set to "Last Song" and "Next Song" with presets to act as Bank Down and Bank Up respectively. With the Custom Bank Sequence changed, the physical bank up/down 2 button actions followed the new bank order, but my presets did not, they stayed in the order originally programmed. Curious as to why that may be? Still learning to use the editor so it's likely I missed something

If the "old-fashioned" way is working well for you, there is no need to use this new feature. If you want to use it, you will just need to do as shown in the video and delete the Set Toggle messages you previously added to each switch.
