i love just going back to minesweeper online every couple of months. but im just average whenever i get stuck on a fifty fifty i just go which feels better surprising odds. ive tried learning the probabilities but it hurts my head... love having it explained like you do but sadly just in one ear out the other. i love watching/ having pokemon content in the background so will be checking out the next series

Starting in the corner also eliminates 50/50s earlier more commonly because theyre more frequent there @@Ali-ls5px

I think the chances of death on the second click should be the chances of not getting an opening on the first click multiplied by the chances of dying in the second click, so aproximately (1 - (1-0'206)^3) * 0'206, which gives around 10%

I don't mind you branching out, but I've seen that channels that post an outlier video to their main channel (ex. PBS Space Time posted a long livestream comment response video) seem to end up very heavily penalized. I suspect when a lot of people skip a video, the recommendation algorithm can't really resolve the reason why and stops recommending the entire channel/topic to them. (That effect might be mitigated by the game tags for gaming videos, but I'm not sure.)

If you run the console command "BruteForceGlobal.PRUNE_BF_ANALYSIS = false", the solver will calculate the odds of winning for every tile, and put them all in the developer console. For this position, (13,0) wins 167/248 positions, (11,0) wins 156, and (6,2) wins 158. Other good moves are (6,1) winning 157, (14,0) winning 157, and (15,0) winning 159.

if you occasionally have to deal with 50/50, what's the point of this game? It's technically... coin flipping! Since thinking this, I couldn't play Minesweeper anymore

I would say that the more you play the less minesweeper is lyck based, but I share your frustration with 5050s specifically :P

Even among 50/50s, when more than one is present in a small, connected area, some choices will be better than others. Misclicks are the worst experience.

There are no-guessing versions of minesweeper you can play where the board is set up such that you don't need to guess. That's the only version I play anymore.

He explains in his 'Minesweeper gameplays suck...' video that it's the odds of him getting a mastery world record by playing a certain amount of games (the number below the percentage), using the best possible expert winrate.

Its the chance of getting mastery world record by playing x(the amount listed below the percentage) amount of games assuming state of the art expert difficoulty winrate (40.1%). The WR is now 57/100 expert games. Thanks for whatching :)

I'm getting into minesweeper, mastery specifically, but sometimes when I use a hint it doesn't work, like it get's stuck on "finding a solution" with the bar full forever. Do you have a solution for it? or is it just a me thing

Is playing for win streak fundamentally the same as playing for mastery? Currently the only thing really “lacking” in my minesweeper account is my win streak, which is 4.

Yes it is, playing trying to maximize your chance of winning is the key to success in both mastery and winstreak

Its a "Mastery WR chances by playing *bottom number* amount of games" calculator. It also displays the last 100 games I played (wins are Vs and losses are Xs)

Did not have Minesweeper and YGO overlap in my bingo card, but here we are. I was wondering why you play Performapal Card Gardna over Moon Mirror Shield. Then I saw Sekka's Light 😂 I'm surprised you don't have the strongest EARTH monster: Maxx "C". Also, have you considered running AA-Zeus in the Extra Deck? It's not EARTH so it clashes with the Vernusylphs but I think it could fit. I'm also thinking of somehow including Parallel Exceed for easier Gallant Granite access, but I haven't tried out the deck to see how easy it is to get a Link 2 on the field without locking myself in any way. Lastly, since you like the EARTH pile, have you ever considered EARTH Machine?

I like card gardna better because its permanent, moon mirror shield is subject to sp and tr removal. Also yes I play sekkas light :P. Maxx "C" is a bit of a dead card many times because ideally you always have barrier statue on tge field, tho I suppose it could be good going second :P Im not familiar with earth machine but I doubt they'd be able to access barrier statue of the drought so easily :)

@@MineBuoy Yeah it was soooo weird! Like I got the video in my recommended, which didn't seem odd as I watch and play Yugioh, but then I saw the channel and was like 'I thought this was that Minesweeper person...?' XD
