Karuizawa is my second hometown. I grew up in Niigata Shi, but we had a summer house in Karuizawa and spent every July and August there when I was growing up in the 70s. We actually had a house on Kumoba pond at one time, but it was sold, and we moved into another across the street and up the mountain a short way. I had an amazing childhood. 😃

Hello, thank you for this absolutely beautiful video. Beautifully edited and lovely music to accompany it. I am going back to Kyoto in October. This will be my second visit and I plan to organise it differently. I noticed that you stayed at The Machiya Kamiumeya Hotel - was this a good choice? We have provisionally booked this one already. I wanted to stay somewhere more traditional and away from the city neighbourhoods. Also what weather can we expect in mid to late October?

Thank you very much! It’s a great space - definitely away from the heavy tourist places but close to the bus stops so it’s easy to get to where you need to go. Lots of local eats nearby also. The room we stayed in was a little smaller than usual and I think it’s because of how it’s set up and the entrance taking up quite a bit of space - but again, beautiful place to stay. We got to Kyoto middle of November and the weather was pleasantly chilly in mornings/night. About 60f degrees. During the middle of the day, a long sleeve was good enough. Maybe October should be a little warmer.

For Aomori we went middle of November but it felt like it was already past peak autumn. So I would try late October or earlier November for better autumn colors. Thank you!

Thank you! Its called Ryu-TABI-NE! They offer different houses throughout Kanazawa. You can book directly or through 3rd party hotels website like us. Either way, you pick up "keys" at their "Central office."

Your images are delicate and wonderful. The comments are also full of poetry. I also stayed at the same hotel three times. I took a walk along the Oirase Stream just like you. In autumn and summer, the amount of water and the color of the trees change, and the scenery changes completely. I am impressed by your words below. Hi! Best way is by bus! Purchase 1 day or more bus pass from Kanazawa station and take the loop bus to major sight seeing spots 🙌🏼✨

Hi! That’s a tough question. If I had to say the most memorable part was the stay at Hakone Ryokan. The dinner and food was delicious and the service and whole experience was 10/10. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Hey! Mt Yoshino we went the middle of the first week of April! It looked fantastic but the cherry blossoms were already off their peak! So maybe a week earlier (last of week of March) would have been the perfect time to go! Thanks for watching!!
