Was some of the project DIY? and what would you figure the retail costs for all the modifications would roughly cost that you had done?
@Skilsoboats Жыл бұрын
If you look through the videos, some of the work is done by my self and some is done by hired yard. However I have been in the business of refurbishment for close to 20 years now. This particular video is kind of a "1/2-way through refurbishment status". Lots have changed since. Cost is a very diffuse thing when talking of projects like this. This particular boat is more a work of passion (test-bed), the work and cost of this one combined is over and above what should make sense in a $ - to - $ resale-thinking-way....There is an estimate in the hard-top-video for that particular project.
@dl6995 Жыл бұрын
Do you have a ball park figure of cost? We have been looking at my families boat for similar project. Looks great
@Skilsoboats Жыл бұрын
Difficult to say, fairly easy to figure the exact "hardware" cost like plotter displays, auto-pilot ect. ect. However there are a significant labor cost on top of this, and the cabeling is not insignificant either. ball-park EUR 12k. depending on what you include in the calculation.
@JohnSmith-ij4xe Жыл бұрын
Wow 😯 they still make hard tops for these. Why did you get the low one and not the high one?
@Skilsoboats Жыл бұрын
Not really sure what you mean by high-low. This hard-top is on par with the height of the superstructure and the exciting overhang on the flybridge. ;-) The fiberglass-top was done by POD as their design is stronger and fit the lines of the boat better than other options in our opinion.

Looks nice! I have a 29 ft sailboat I’m considering refurbishing. What budget are we talking about?
@JohnBraman413 Жыл бұрын
what was the cost of this?
@Skilsoboats Жыл бұрын
This is a highly custom solution where no corners were cut and a lot of man-hours, the hardtop Installation was just part of a major combined project. In other words hard to specify exactly. There are about USD 10K in materials and shipping-costs, then ad the man-hours.

What is name or type of paint on radome ? ( I will make it in dark blue )
@Skilsoboats4 жыл бұрын
We use regular high quality spray paint on cans. Make sure the paint dont have any metalic ingrediense as this will make the radar useless.

@@Skilsoboats what brand of spray paint did you use? I am painting my furuno radome white and I am looking at VHT white epoxy paint but it has <5% titanium dioxide in the paint formula. Furuno says no metallic, but would <5% titanium dioxide cause any problems?

Hvordan går båten i 17-18 kn? Blir den ikke "ustø"...?
@Skilsoboats6 жыл бұрын

can you pleaes tell me what prop is being used with that engine, seems the old prop needs to be updated,, thanks
@Skilsoboats6 жыл бұрын
South West Florida Aerial - yes. The old one was 18x18, and the engine was reaching 3100 rpm. The new prob. is 17x16, and should fint better, giving something lige 600 rpm extra.
@Skilsoboats6 жыл бұрын
We have mounted a 17x16 prob for this season giving a top-speed of 16.8 to 17.2. You are right, the old prob was too steep with 18x18.

South West Florida Aerial it does yes .-)
@guglielmodicarlo41396 жыл бұрын
can you tell me if the new engine fits in the same space as the 30?, also, excuse my questions, but is the additional venting and fan for the intercooler? as I am considering this as well on my 26 thanks
@Skilsoboats6 жыл бұрын
South West Florida Aerial - yes it does, the feet line up, but you have to upgrade the water inlet as it’s too small for the more powerful engine. Also notice that the 31 is quite a bit wider than the 30 op top, and that the gearbox is bigger also.
@guglielmodicarlo41396 жыл бұрын
thanks, there must be a couple of versions of that engine, as mine looks very similar to the original 30 Im picking it up tomorrow and making the swap soon, also can you tell me about the venting that you did in this video? I assume the original flange to the prop shaft can be used, ?to me it looks identical
