How are you suggesting cutting out the inner ring to fit a full circle snap ring? Or what tool rather? Thanks ahead... 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
@OldIronOffroad20 сағат бұрын
@PBROWDER111 I do it with a cut off wheel. Cut a little relief for the snap ring to fin and then go back with a flap disc and polish everything out smooth so there are no stress risers.

Braaaappppp! 🤘 Should have added some suspension to the back while you were stretching it lol I bent the frame on mine thrashing around in the field with Porter. Luckily my gas tank is still in place so it acts as a nice frame stiffener😅

Watching all your vids , love your work , building a 73 K10 putting 1 ton axles in with 4 inch lift and 36” tires do you recommend turning inner C’s ?
@OldIronOffroad4 күн бұрын
Appreciate you watching. I usually don't turn 60s. They typically don't need it. It is honestly pretty tough to get them to move on a kingpin axle. Best bet if you need to move the caster is to cut the c apart and go with some reids

@OldIronOffroad6 күн бұрын
You want the engine pointing down 3 to 4 degrees slightly in the rear. You can measure across a head, T case output, crank balancer. It doesnt matter. 4.8 isnt terrible.

On this setup the AC mount pushes the compressor in line with the alt. So everything runs off of the same 2 belts.

I like this build, not bored at all. I look forward to seeing the next video in this series. I'm not an International guy, but do have a rock crawler I am slowly building. Interesting to see what others are doing. I'm sure you put it out in an early video in the series, but I do not recall - why did you go with a turbo 4.3 over a 5.3 LS? Seems to me the power will be similar, though the 4.3 will have to rev higher to output the same horsepower.
@OldIronOffroad10 күн бұрын
@benjaminreinhardt259 glad you are digging it. Honestly the original idea for the 4.3 was something lighter and reliable. The turbo idea came as an afterthought as a means of pulling some more power and really just another cool factor.
