Very helpful, and amusing too :) The early twin turbo models had some reliability issues but otherwise have heard it was a good car.

I just got my first car, 2001 Volvo S80 2.4, 170horsepower, 5spd auto. Has been in our family since 2017, at the time of purchase 220,000km, 6 years later now its 286,000km, no major problems, had to replace some suspension bits, and the magneti marelli infamous throttle casing. Fuel consumption is about 12l/100 in city, 7,5-8liter HWY. Cheap reliable comfort!!

I had one of those in the UK when they first came out, I loved it. P707 TUF was the number and in red with black leather seats. I wish I'd kept it. I now have a 1970 FIAT 500, also left hand drive and absolutely no problem in a right hand drive country. It's just as much fun but in a very different way. Nice to see this.

As someone who owns a first-generation 2000 Volvo S80 i love the car. I think it's a beautiful and stylish luxury car. And it drives and handles very elegantly. is truly not a thing I dislike about the car I would definitely recommend it to anyone who's into Volvo. Volvo definitely hit the nail on the head when designing this car.

That is a lot of car for 1500€ O_O and those are pretty bullet proof, the seats and suspension is really comfortable for highway cruising and roadtrips. But get the T6 or the 2,5T.

The 2nd button is the Reduce Guard switch. When pressed it disables the internal mass motion sensor for the alarm and if fitted the level sensors (activates the alarm when the car is jacked up). The W mode on the gear selector isn't a Wet mode but a Winter mode. It causes the car to start in 3rd gear to allow the vehicle to move easily under slippery/ icy conditions. If you ever wondered what the other 5 optional buttons do just for knowledge and info, for all 7 buttons you have: Electric headrest switch, Reduce Guard switch, DSTC/STC switch, Electric child-lock switch, Side Power Folding Mirrors switch, Auxiliary Lights switch and Valet Parking Rear Boot lock switch.

I made lots of business trips to Italy late 1990’s and early 2000’s I always booked my hire car in advance (by fax) and always requested a 156; I was never disappointed, fantastic car and a great start to any trip was driving away from Malpensa or Linate in a classy rental.

Currently driving the Volvo S80 2.4 170hp '00 in my profile picture. Beautiful car, drives really well and extremely reliable. Although I payed a lot more for it, I think it was still worth it considering a lot of parts were new on it. Plus brand new winter and summer tires with aluminum rims. 240000 km still going strong!

@@dillonfowle8061 3500, which might seem a lot in some countries but it's a good price here where I live. Suspension was pretty much new, clutch as well, engine was running like new and plenty of other parts.

Nice and simple review. One question, is there another way of opening the trunk? It seems kinda unpractical to take the key out every time you want to pop it open. I'm looking at buying one, a 77kw diesel (Can't drive anything with more than 80kw till I'm 21, laws here suck) and they're very rare, and expensive for what they are (1600+ eur).
@carjourney51572 жыл бұрын
As far as I know that's the only way besides using te boot release inside the car. It is possible that a later version could have an electronic boot release button on the keyfab.
