Its funny you mention New Vegas dlc dragging the game down overall. I agree, none of it is at the level of the base game. Though Honest Hearts is the only I actually like, personally. I will never replay the others, but Honest Hearts always gets a spot any time I do another playthrough.

One thing I didn’t see brought up is there is a problem with the whole “necessity and urgency brakes silos” maneuver they did to get the final quest done. The problem being that it creates an incentive for the Bethesda employees to leave critical parts of the project unfinished on purpose so that they can hit the panic button close to deadlines and finally get the staff, resources and management structure to do their job effectively. This is asking for disaster though because what do you do if your miracle worker is already tied up with someone else who needed to brake the silo? Or a top suit after the many times it’s happened figures that the devs are just worried over nothing and pushes the project ahead or out the door unfinished.

Also, you could be frowned upon if you'd announce you're 'failing'/will be 'failing' and need the panic button. "If you knew you were needing the panic button, why didn't you put more work into it in the first place?" There are tools, but not for everybody at the same time in every stage.

4:10:52 a small thing, but killing and sacrificing are not the same action, at least not inherently. A sacrifice often has more steps and a more intricate setup and serves a greater purpose, as opposed to just burning a living tree spirit to ash, slashing at it with an axe or sword, or skewering it with arrows.

Starfield, No Man Sky, and Cyberpunk 2077 don’t even come close to the worse video game launch. It's Daikatana. Starfield Showed that Bethesda has mismanagement. Cyberpunk showed that Investors are idiots. And No Man Sky is what happens why stupid Sony forces an indie game to triple A status. Daikatana killed the career of the gaming God John Romero. Imagine going from Gabe Newell status to IceCreamAssassin (Legacy of the Dragonborn Mod Lead) Status nothing can beat that failure.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R's original launch is way up there in terms of apocalyptically bad ones. People joke about X-Ray being unstable and fragile today, but on launch it was in an entirely different universe of unreliability.

2:24:00 the temples are baaaad. I suggested a more interesting replacement where upon finding them you're teleported to a vignette where you're in a divergent timeline and have to solve a problem from the alternate universe, like one where vae victis works for chunks and is getting overwhelmed with too many orders or one where house varuun conquered new atlantis and Andreja is an empress. I mean if we're going to play with a multiverse let's have fun with it

19:00, Makes me think that the key to good audio logs is probably hiring 80 y/o's that worked on producing radio dramas back in the day. If you want to do a good job without any visuals then you need to make the audio really really vibrant and descriptive.

4:47:00 Regarding Production/Jira: Its a tool to manage tasks and resources for an entire team. Its not just a matter of the producers, although most often you have a dedicated "jira master"/scrum master or something similar. Team leads managing tasks and distributing them among the team is rather normal, although you would usually do that in a daily/weekly meeting depending on the size of the team. Its pretty much industry standard software for large companies in the same way git is standard for versioncontrol. Bethesda using Jira is not special/noteworthy imo, and i dont understand chats aversion to it.

Stendarr’s slave name is Stendaryl. Also, I recently went back to Fallout 4 to check out the anniversary update, with the addition of the Enclave Creation Club content and everything, and I’ve come to the realization that CC is ruining these games (shocking, I know). You can’t just cram more stuff into these areas, you have to expand the world and trickle it out. And the Enclave come back, which could be an exciting concept if there was a story to it. But no, you just go out and kill them. They might as well be radstags in power armor. I feel nothing.

2:04:45 it spawns increasing numbers of enemies for like 3-5 rounds and then it just makes an angry noise if you makes mistake. this is to prevent players from over spawning enemies or grinding loot off them.

The narrative under this is amazing. Will Shen spending years grinding it out, working his way up. Gets a once in a lifetime creative opportunity only to be drowned in corpo bureaucracy and watch the dream die. This talk must've felt amazing for him. Big respect.
