I really dislike graffeti. The shackles are a grim reminder of how badly indigenous people were treated. Is it any better? Love the videos, I get to see places I will never visit, thankyou.

Couldn’t agree more.. Brodie you really are a bloody jerk!! 😡 As an indigenous woman, it was hard to see those shackles in the ground like that, but I’m glad they are still there for us all to see and learn from. Australia has such a fascinating history. Thanks again for another awesome video 💕👍🏽

Hello John and Tracey. Been following your videos now for quite some time, since your first walkthrough video on the essential caravan. Also an Essential owner. We have added a second battery, 2600 inverter, Dcdc charger, additional solar panels. Love our essential caravan and love the brand, seem to be well built and good after sales service. When building the caravan, we opted for the L shape lounge which gives more room. Love your content and places you go and show to us. Enjoy life and continue to make memories and leaving footprints. Enjoy. Owen

Hi Jon and Tracey, if you are happy with your current caravan, just upgrade your 12 volt electrical system to lithium batteries. You may need a system like 200-400 amp-hour battery, a suitable dcdc1240d charger (redarc or itechworld or kickass) plus a 3500 watt inverter to run the aircon all night long. The chargers I mentioned allow solar input without the need for a solar controller, with the redarc bcdc1240d giving priority to green solar energy when available over electrical energy. There are some great lithium batteries available now and the prices are becoming a lot cheaper. This upgrade would be a considerable amount cheaper than a caravan upgrade to get the same result, and Jon would get his full night sleep in aircon. Travel Safe. G.D.M.

Hey there, great advice. We already have lithium batteries but we don't have the weight allowance to accommodate upgrades. We are pretty much on the limit now. Thanks for the info though 👍

Hi guys, first I would be looking for a second hand caravan that has been built for off grid, second we have a Crusader Musketeer Recliner and love it and we have chosen to live in a over 55 lifestyle community resort, works well for us being retired and still active caravaning, off to Tassie in February next year for 4 months and the manager looks after the house while we're away.

Thanks John, we tried an over 50s, lived there for 2 years, but it so wasn't for us. We bought there because of the convenience, maybe we were to young to be there at that stage, being just over 50 when we moved in. Good to hear you love the recliners. Thanks for watching 👀

Up grade the current caravan to more solar for off grid if your caravan is good don't replace it , i don't trust new ones simple , and why buy another house or rent ? Your house is on wheels and can change the scenery and shit neighbours at any time 😊 a recliner ooo yourl sleep in it and never make it to the bed 😂

Hi guys, I enjoy your videos. We also have an essential van, a 21.6 Cruiser, we dont do a lot of off road and mainly caravan parks at the moment although we have set up for off road. We have the 18 foot 8 Cruiser couples van. They build great vans at reasonable prices, not sure if you have any issues if any? We can’t find any faults at this stage but talking to other owners, they don’t seem to have troubles. Looking forward to our South Aus trip in November. Enjoy your travels.

Thanks guys another great video. We were at the crossroads of full time or part time and the one common denominator is Health. While you guys are healthy keep doing what you are doing and don't look back. Once the little health issues become noticeable be aware they don't go away but become a a limiting factor on your travelling life style. It is then you have to make decisions. I have an eye problem that requires a 3 monthly eye injection to maintain my sight, so we have to plan a bit ahead . Now the carefree lifestyle is some what more planned. Stay safe guys Ray

Guys we went back to visit Karatha/Dampier last year on our big lap after having left there in 1981. I worked on the island you could see for 3 years maintaining all the iron ore train dumping /stockpiling and ship loading facilities its called East Intercourse Island and was the deep water port for Hamersley Iron. Smaller ships were loaded at the Dampier wharf and larger ships over at the Island. The turn off to the causeway that goes over there is just near that Red dog statue. Although we lived there at the same time as Red Dog to tell you the truth I never heard of him until the movie came out. I,m sure there were people in the Pilbara who knew about him,. Not sure that his fame was as widespread as what was made out I think his legend may have grown a bit over the years..Couldnt get over how big the town of Karatha is now even though Dampier is the same size and if anything is nowhere near as busy as it used to be. Our first daughter was born in the Dampier Hospital and when we went back to see the place it was gone replaced by a big new medical center in Karratha. We also visited our old townhouse and the 4 bedroom house that we lived in both located in the original part of town .For us that was probably the most depressing part those 2 dwellings have certainly suffered with time, Hamersley used to maintain everything in both towns including the housing nowadays its all privately owned and at that end of town they definately looked their age. In a harsh climate like the Pilbara 45 years is long time to be exposed to the elements summers up there can be brutal.. Sometimes you just cant go back things are never the same as you remember them....

I liked the idea of having one of these as a back up, but after watching the video I checked out the bluetti website and for this model it says NOT to run air conditioner or washing machine, so you didn't read the instructions properly and if bluetti approved your video that is false claims about that product 😮
@rossharvey1496
@rossharvey1496 13 күн бұрын
If you do not have an inverter "soft start' air con then the start-up power drain will trip most set-ups. Jon said his was an inverter type so the Bluetti was obviously up to task with a softer initial draw. I think he said the Bluetti has a 2700 Watt capacity and I know I could run our van's air con from a 2000W generator. It isn't all that simple (like max amp draw, cable thickness etc.) but it looked like it wasn't going to trip. Having said that I'd not want to trash the warranty if the instructions do not recommend running such things as you mentioned.
@onlyleavingfootprints
@onlyleavingfootprints 13 күн бұрын
Thank you for watching - In response to your comment we would not use this on a household aircon however it was shown in our video that it could run our caravan air con -here is what the people at Bluetti say.... The AC180 is a portable power station, and whether it can run an air conditioner depends on the power requirements of the air conditioner and the output capabilities of the Bluetti AC180. Here are some key parameters: - Bluetti AC180: - Output Power: 1800W (rated), 2700W (surge) - Battery Capacity: 1152Wh - Typical Household Air Conditioners**: - Small portable air conditioners typically have power requirements ranging from 500W to 1500W. - Medium or large air conditioners can require power above 1500W. If you're looking to power a small portable air conditioner with a power draw within the 1800W output range of the Bluetti AC180, then it should be able to run it. However, if the air conditioner requires more than 1800W, the Bluetti AC180 might not be able to sustain it, especially considering the surge power required during startup. To provide a precise answer, you need to determine the specific power requirements of your air conditioner and compare them with the output capacity of the Bluetti AC180.

Hi guys , great video. I just bought one last week, its a great unit, I have been testing the ac180 at home for my caravan. As carting a generator with its footprint and weight wasn't great. Its an amazing unit and using it in the ute as a 2nd battery and it being portable outside the ute is a game changer! Also the power grid at our rural home isn't as reliable with at least 2-3 power outages over a year. Its able to run the pump from our water tank so at least we have water in the house. Great review look forward to your next vid!
