I understand the hesitation from Mr. Malle that this perfume could almost be too sublime for real life. One wonders whether one is the woman the scent projects, whether one can be… this perfume changed my nose forever, and makes me want to rise to the occasion. She dares you to meet her where she is.

Frederic Malle méprise les "financiers" mais il a quand même vendu son business et laissé diluer ses parfums.

Pierre Bourdon is not only one of the greatest perfumers of all time(top 2 in my book) he also seems to be a well educated highly intelligent person with integrity coming out of his ears(calls it how he sees it). Agreed with everything he said, tremendous insight! Also the revelation that he was responsible for virtually all Creed fragrances from 1980 to 2005 as a de facto in house perfumer to me solidifies him as the greatest niche perfumer of all time and along with Jacques Polge(greatest designer perfumer) the two greatest in general. I'm glad he is finally getting the recognition he deserves. He is also adorable(most perfumers seem to have very pleasant personalities/demeanors) and seems like a thoroughly interesting person to have a chat with. PS: I thoroughly agree with him regarding banned ingredients and reformulations. In the end they ruin the fragrance and for what, so that that 0.01% of the population doesn't suffer some kind of allergy. Is it not better to just continue to produce the same product, put a warning label on it AND perhaps even create an alternate version for those with sensitive skin/constitutions and allow the remaining 99.99% of the population to continue enjoying the masterpiece as it was originally created. I keep saying this, the man is a genius! Countless beloved fragrances were ruined or even discontinued because of this idiocy(most recently YSL Y, looking at you Dominique Ropion), we need more Pierre Bourdons in the industry in order to save it from self destruction.

This perfume is an absolute masterpiece. First time I tried it, made me almost emotional. It is like to listen to an oboe concerto.
