Still got it. Engine problems, spent some time and money fixing it, same problem came back. It's sitting on the drive, not sure what direction to go with it. Make some more power or getting it running with stock parts? Don't see much point making it quicker unless I sell my PD160 as they're both similar cars. Would love another 1.8T Cupra, or a newer 1.8 Ibiza Cupra. Don't want to sell the Fabia as I've had it so long now. Probably would be ok if it did sell. Or sell both cars and get something a bit different. I really should find a unit then I can spend some time sorting it all out.

I will use the device for the next month and see how it performs

For me both have been good so far, what is your budget? Because if camera and performance is a priority it might be worth looking for the latest flagship devices from bigger brands.

I still have the car, not currently on the road. Had a load of trouble with the engine but it wasn't the healthiest before I bought it. I'd say the modifications were fine for the 20,000 miles I did with them fitted. Currently deciding what's the next best step as I also have an Ibiza Cupra PD160 which I use everyday.

@@BenSchofield I bet the cupra is awesome… I’ve just bought a completely standard yellow 2006 fab vrs and really fancy some more bhp but also want to keep it as a reliable workhorse!

Just a standard downpipe with a gutted cat and no rear silencer. It's not the loudest thing going, but I don't think I'd want it any louder to be honest.

I had all my mods declared and was paying in the region of £700-£750 a year.

In terms of the engine I've just changed the headbolts, other than that it is stock. I've then bolted on a different turbo and changed the intercooler along with a few other things.

It's a GT1752RVB from Skillaturbos, pretty much a PD150/PD160 hybrid turbo.

1752 turbo, bigger intercooler, straight through exhaust, PD160 air intake with a Pipercross panel filter, custom remap, AP coilovers, whiteline rear anti roll bar, Michelin PS4 tyres and this short shifter. I think that's covered most things.

I've a Forge FMIC, 2.5" turbo back exhaust, PD160 cold air feed, Pipercross filter, Helix SMF and clutch but i'm only on the stock KKK turbo with a mild map. I want to go for a Skilla GT1752 and a new map with PD150 headbolts, but i don't want it to smoke really so probably only get 200bhp or so.

@@hardcoretam Yes! Still on the standard head 😀 I can't see much benefit from a better flowing head on a 1752, maybe if I was to build a "race" engine I'd think about uprating.

I'd definitely recommend one, they're a great car if they've been looked after and also have great tuning potential. Make sure to do your research before picking one up as there are quite a few things to look out for when buying 😄

Now you mention it, the car does seem to start well. I've seen other videos where they seemingly take ages to fire up. I've heard that the long start can be caused by a faulty camshaft or crankshaft sensor, you'd have to get that checked on yours though :)

@@BenSchofield Yeah you might be right, it's weird as sometimes it starts up straight away and sometimes takes a few cranks. But I've just spent £400 getting it through its MOT so it doesn't really bother me that much haha!

I do like the SE, nice to hear about a low mileage one. Regarding turbos, power wise they can produce anywhere from 165-180hp, not too sure on boost pressure. A basic remap will see those figures mentioned.

What have you got planned or are you currently working that out?

The best modification I have done so far has to be a rear anti roll bar, it's transformed the handling. I'm still currently on standard size brakes, I do have some Leon Cupra R brakes for each corner, so 323mm discs on the front with 4 piston Brembo calipers. A decent set of discs and pads with fresh brake fluid will do wonders on the stock setup.
