When is the c clamp needed ? is it not needed when I change out only the break pads ?
@markgrovenor3894 күн бұрын
Hi there, yes you might need to push the cylinders back in if you are replacing worn, thin pads with new thicker ones. Using a C (or G?) clamp is a common method to get the cylinders back in although you may need to unbolt the caliper from the rotor to make room. Alternatively, leave the old inner pad in place and use a screwdriver, chisel or similar to gently pry it back away from the rotor, which will push the cylinders back. Make sure your fluid doesn't overflow from the master cylinder when you do this! I hope that helps!🙂

The first few items that might make a small improvement will be a K&N oiled filter (as I already have it waiting to fit) and a Velossa Tech big mouth cold air induction. This alone will be as good if not better than any aftermarket air box but will remain hidden from view. As an American with an 18 SS: 1. Doing this to your Camaro decreases its value. 2. Sounds great...no performance increase whatsoever. 3. The 2019 is the "ugly duckling" already. 4. Having the exhaust sticking out that far betond the valance destroys the intended tapered look of the NPP quad exhaust; which IS a Borla design. I love mods. When they are done to improve the performance or look of the car. This achieves none of those objectives; making the back of the car look like a boy racer trash can muffler equipped Civic. Makes a bunch of noise; but w/o engine tuning produces no horsepower or performance gains. Sorry. I even love your cars color. It is because I love Camaros that I dont see the point. Why didnt you buy a diffuser that would have at least looked nicer? -yank * edited for spelling

Did the proper troubleshoot, battery, fuses etc. Jumped across the two terminals on the solenoid and the motor fired up. New solenoid on order (I went OEM), we'll see in a few days if 'SAS' <--( the bikes nickname) problem is solved. I think I'm always going to keep a jumper wire in the emergency kit from now on.

@@markgrovenor389 Update. Changed the solenoid, and sure enough that was the issue. I did however, go with an option in case it should go out again. (For Safety) I put more insulation around the already insulated heavy gauge wire I was using as a "jumper". I happened to have one laying around. I then installed the heavy solid gauge jumper wire onto the "M-Side" of the solenoid terminal, and covered the loose end of the jumper with a wire nut. In this way, in an emergency I can remove the cover, un-screw the wire nut, and touch it to the "B-side" terminal to get the bike started. Then, dressed the wire nice and neat around the fuse box, with a small note: "Emergency Solenoid Jumper". More than likely, if the solenoid does go out again, I'll forget the jumper is there until needed to bail me out again. 😎
