So glad I found your channel. Thank you so much for your openness and honesty! I’m an older adult returning to the flute after 30+ years and I find your insight very helpful. ❤️

I'm "allergic" to the bites of mosquitoes too. I'll be checking out the article about skeeter syndrome. I swear too I feel like I have a bullseye on my back -- if I can be bitten by something I will get bitten!

Tho It's hard with life challenges lol but therapy helps a ton. Because a lot people do it so you shouldn't be ashamed because everyone one is human. But find a good amount of time like I set 10 minutes for each instruments because I do 5 instruments.

Hello! I’m the yangqin player in the Eason music videos, I’m also an employee there. Really enjoyed watching the video from start to finish. I really appreciate hearing a flautist’s POV on the dizi and the go-abouts on figuring out and analysing on how to play the dizi. Really fun content! Also, we’re glad you’ve enjoyed your visit to our Singapore store. Catch you around 😄

I have a recommendation for review. Ceflute stopper and crown. I bought one myself and found it worth the money, especially when one already have a nice flute, further upgrades maybe impossible due to cost and the Ceflute is cheaper than searching for another headjoint. In addition, if one has upgraded to a new headjoint or flute, Ceflute can transfer to the new one and it is possible to use the headjoint’s orginal crown.

Funny this just came up in my feed. I have Nuvo's Jhorn which is kinda neat because you can swap out the mouthpieces to figure out if want to play trumpet/trombone or Tuba

What a great video! You are so lucky! I did a concert at Carnegie Hall when I was around 14, my mother was so against my music that she refused to come to the concert! My dad , on the other hand was very supportive. He was a closet singer! A pretty good tenor but never performed. He was into the music publishing business though, literally! He was a lithographer working for G Schirmer. I can look at old Messiah choral scores and pick out his edits! They were his hand engraved repairs to the plates. He was a press operator, so almost every Schirmer score went through him from the 1950s to the 1970s! Anyway, if it were not for my dad, I would have missed out on literally thousands of great life experiences as a professional musician. You are so very lucky! Keep on doing what you love! It makes life worth living! 😊

Hi! Bill here! I get this! Nuff Said! Besides life stresses, I'm sitting here under a severe thunderstorm warning, possible ping pong ball sized hail, slight chance of tornado! I used to be a voice actor, years ago! I do cartoon voices to relax! I'm lucky I'm new at the flute. I can't regress yet! I have nothing to regress to. Thank you for sharing this! It is reminder that there are ops and downs in life! How we choose to cope matters! Peace!✌️

Update: I finally discovered how C7 likes to be played (FOR ME) on my flute (Gemeinhardt 3OB) Turns it resonates kind of in the middle of my mouth and the air is shot towards the top of my mouth. Thanks to what you explained about problem harmonics being present as a default in flutes, I was able to figure it out shamelessly! 🖤

I’m so glad you had a lovely trip and that you’re both starting to feel better. Can’t wait for more dizi nerdiness! I’m obsessed with learning about different flutes from around the world and I often think about buying a dizi specifically. Already I have an Irish flute and while I haven’t mastered it, it’s fun to be an enthusiastic amateur!
