Went to a live drawing session last night and was so self-conscious. I really appreciate your comments about how a finely-tuned drawing isn't necessarily "better" than an energetic, gestural one (you said this in a different video). But this video is tilting me toward joining your Patreon site. I just want to get really *good* at this.

Please someone help! Clints always want the paintings to arrive as quick as possible, Can I skip varnishing them? What varnish can I use on paintings once they’re dry to touch without ruining them?

Stephen, you can find those Conte graphite pencils online. I’ve not seen them in stores but they’re on quite a few websites. At least in the U.K. they’re on Cultpens, Cassart, Jacksons etc Also interestingly enough they go up to a 6B so if the 2B is that dark I’m curious what the higher grades will be like.

Been following your channel for a while now. Your content is so compact with useful information. It's like you really know what to teach exactly. I actually find you a better teacher than our current more popular 'masters' who throw in a bit (meaning A LOT) of 'life' every other stroke in their demos. You seem passionate with it as well. Hope you continue to teach.
