Just found your video right now searching for DIY videos making speaker stands. So far your design is the best one that I could find and there are a lot out there. My stands need to raise my speakers 36"s, and since I have grand kids running around who have already knocked over the cheap speaker stands that I got from Amazon, the stands that I am going to build will need to have some weight at the bottom so they don't easily topple over. Going to use your design but I will be making a box on top of your bottom foundation. The box will be hollow and I am going to put some lead weight in it and bolt it down and then finish it with the rest of your design. And I will probably stain the wood instead of painting it. But I will paint the pipe black and will look good against the wood grain. Thanks again for a great DIY video!!

Do you have to use a spool gun for aluminum? I have just a couple little spots to weld on my john boat and was wondering if I just got a spool of aluminum and put it in my Hobart?

Nice spool guns you got there. I've never used one, but I am looking forward to try. Since, I already have the welder (HOBART 210), I want to go for it. Thank you for the comparison.👍👍

The 210 and 211 are different in that the Hobart is a transformer machine, and the Miller is inverter. Different power technologies. I would imagine that's why they made a different plug for each. I have the 210, and for the cost, I'm glad I do

This is the wrong way to install a catch can. So many you tubers have no idea how they work. Your creating a vacuum leak with that vented catch can. Probably should explain this so people don't make this mistake. You need a "closed" catch can.

My family ancestory links back to Eochaid 111 of Argyll in 0697. Also Griogair Mac Alpin in 0820 and Gregor MacGregor in 1220. All the way down to John Henry MacGregor in 1576 and everything in between. John Henry is the reason we ended up in Ireland because he made a deal with King James 1. Then John Gregg moved us to the USA and his son, William Obediah "Revoluntionary Bill" Gregg fought in the war. We've been in Virgina and North Carolina ever since.

Wouldn't it be best to put a big fuse just after the battery terminal Soo it doesn't act as a huge flame thrower if it somehow touches bare metal?

There is a 150a fuse in line, just not as close to the battery as it should be in theory. "Best" would be to get one of the terminals with the fusing directly on it.

Reviving a dead project, Do you know where this car is? I was the one that took it off the rotisserie when i was 18 years old, got it to a roller and traded it to Ryan. Curious where it ended up? Nice job on the paint work btw, cant believe the body work was even that bad. Everything but the hood had been blocked and sprayed once before. I also made that spoiler. Glad it stayed.
@REVJHD
@REVJHD Жыл бұрын
We had it running and done with the LS3 and T56, took it down to the dyno etc. Ryan held onto it for a year or two after, and ended up selling it last year (iirc), to fund a new project rebuilding his dads old Mustang. I don't know the current location of the car but I can talk to Ryan and see what he remembers.

Yes all that but the real issues are the caps. They should be swapped out and frankly upgraded even if yours sound OK today. And also be careful of the black goo of death. I swap my caps out every 500 hours or so and when I do it always blows my mind how much better they sound. But my rokits are 10+ years old now and I've learnt my way around them. Lots of repairs. Anyone who opens my krks will see various upgrades. Be sure to use decent solder and not the free crap thrown in with your eBay special iron. All that said, it's usually an annual event that one just starts popping, ticking or generally sounding trashed (I'm here because today one has just started popping until its warm (classic cap ailment) . They have a habit of destroying themselves . And anyone using the 3.5 jack is just asking for issues. Quality XLR all the way.
