It happened to me, some npcs or the move metronome tend to have a certain pattern, I don't know what it depends on, but it's something I could see after putting in +1000 hours, in your case I've seen a lot of repetition of Jirachi's doom desire move for example, in the last 10 videos you used that move like 5-9 times, which is strange for a rare move like that XD

Yeah, I assume it’s a simple RNG call function. I don’t think many things are advancing the seed between moves, which means if a battle reaches the same part of the sequence, the called moves (and outcomes like crits and misses) will be the same. I’m not really sure about how one could avoid that. Even if you advanced the seed, the sequence of outcomes are likely the same.

The first battle you do after starting up the game always has the same pattern (tri attack, flail,...). You can avoid that by having a throwaway battle first. Then the randomization seems to work "properly" again.

@@MetroNomicon777 Good catch! I hadn't noticed that. That's frustrating. Normally I record two videos for this Tournament in the same session, but this specific one and the previous were seperate. That's three out of the last four that started with Tri Attack and Flail. That plus the other repeats we've seen makes me very frustrated. I don't want this. I can almost start predicting a winner soon, or at least say who has an advantage in a fight because of the moves I know will happen.

@@Auke1993 Personally I haven't notice any other repeating patterns other than the first one. What you can do, if you play on emulator, is put as many Pokemon into the game as you can and use savestates instead of loading up the game normally.

@@jontiways The opponent's moves too. I haven't rewatched the entire fight, but it's extremely similar.

It happens, 100% random does not exist. I remember back in the day that you could manipulate the rng in Pokemon Stadium 2 with save states, so maybe it is related with timing.

I think that was the plan. If this would've been on April 1st, I would've made it a 6v6 for sure.

Most Pokémon don't learn Metronome, so it's not that many that would need to be done. Most Pokémon though have two or three attacking animations, and the kind of move goes with the appropriate movement. That's what I think.

Similar to the earlier Stadium games (and Colosseum and XD). There is the individual Pokemon attacking animation setup which is just one for certain move types (such as coming up close and opening its jaws or the like for the biting moves), and then the attack animations for the one that uses the "stays on spot" animation into a single category, with maybe some secondary modifications. Priority moves are usually faster version of the regular "approach close and attack" animations except for Ice Shard. Extremespeed is 4x faster attack animation whereas Quick Attack and Aqua Jet are 2x speed for example

There is this thing called PP limitation, eventually one Pokemon would run out of PP on all moves and forced to use Struggle (25% max HP recoil, which will guarantee a Pokemon to eventually faint from it since there is no way to outheal the recoil damage)

Doom Desire does not have an accuracy of 100. It can miss.

It would take a lot of work for someone to make a count for every move, and in every video. I'd love to see total stats though.

I put the same comment in another video. Ingrain is another move that appears often.

When I do regular Metronome Battles again, I may do that. However, my focus right now is in the 1v1 Metronome Tournament.
