Love these pages and the colours too and who can resist gold? Wanted to ask what you used on the shells first up before you sprayed them. Has a very art deco look!😊
@pagesofanartjournal2 ай бұрын
Thank you😃 I could add gold to every page! For the resist I added Ranger Distress Micro Glaze (basically a mixture of petroleum jelly and alcohol). Love this product.

At the beginning of this video, what two items did you mix together to make a base for your page? Was it Oxide Spray and Gesso?

No it was just one color of PaperArtsy Fresco chalk paint. No mixing of any mediums.

@pagesofanartjournal2 ай бұрын
Thank you for coming back and watching😊 Crackle paste is awesome. The crackle sizes will be different depending on how thick you apply it. Thin application makes tiny crackles and a thick application will create big crackles. Appreciate you leaving a comment!

In real time, how long did it take you to do this double page?
@pagesofanartjournal2 ай бұрын
It depends. Sometimes I create spreads over a few days and other times in one go. If I were to guess, maybe like an hour or two total on average?
@peggylindenthaler61692 ай бұрын
@@pagesofanartjournal So then it would take me forever, lol.
@pagesofanartjournal2 ай бұрын
@@peggylindenthaler6169oh no I don’t think it would forever🙂 Remember there is drying time too for like texture paste and fussy cutting papers. I was just guessing but now I am curious and may pay more attention next time lol

Wow. I didn't know an art deco spread like that could be done! So beautiful and inspiring to watch you create it.
@pagesofanartjournal2 ай бұрын
I didn’t know either! It just came to me one day when I was testing out the stencils I had created which are influenced by art deco patterns😄 I wanted to add a figure of a girl and then I remembered I had that Klimt patterned paper. I had this paper for so long and didn’t know what to do with it until now. Thank you for watching and leaving a comment!

@@pagesofanartjournal You created those stencils? They are AMAZING.
@susananderson84282 ай бұрын
Awesome! Love his page. Two questions: Where did you find that dragonfly!! It is beautiful. Did it have the glossy accents or did you add them (on the body) and if you added them, how did you do that? (I guess that's actually 3 questions!) The color combination is awesome. I have texture paste but had no idea there were different "versions". I really like the crackle texture. Oh, a couple more questions: is all the color added with inks and/or stains or were the splatters with paint? How did you achieve the turquoise splatters? Thanks so much for sharing. 😍😍😍
@pagesofanartjournal2 ай бұрын
Thank you😊 The dragonfly came automatically like that. I just found this pack of die cut insects at my local dollar store. Such a great find. All the colors are done with different inks. No paint used. The turquoise splatters is the same ink used on the crackle paste which is MoonShadow Mist by Lindy’s Gang. The color is Tawny Turquoise. It’s one of my most favourite inks I own😄

You can also mist the mask with water while the paint is still wet & print that like a stamp onto another page - that will give you a nice, distressed reversed image of the stencil as well. Love the page you created. Especially using the soft pastel detail. Mica powders are good for that too
