Exploring Various Stencil Methods In An Art Nouveau Inspired Art Journal Page

It's interesting to learn the difference between art deco and art nouveau art styles. I have had the Klimt patterned papers from Stamperia for awhile but wasn't sure how to use them. When I created this background I knew I wanted to have a women's figure. So after digging around in my stash of papers I found her. She was perfect for the art journal spread:) Hope you enjoy this video!

I didn’t know either! It just came to me one day when I was testing out the stencils I had created which are influenced by art deco patterns😄 I wanted to add a figure of a girl and then I remembered I had that Klimt patterned paper. I had this paper for so long and didn’t know what to do with it until now. Thank you for watching and leaving a comment!

Another Klimt fan here! I have two pads of that paper and have been afraid to cut into it... until now! Your 2-page spread is magnificent. And im following your lead to do some Klimt pages in a new journal. Also, following you on KZfaq!!

Thank you for the amazing comment! I too was terrified of cutting up these type of papers. They just lived in a drawer for a long time till one day I just decided to cut them up. Better to use it than store it. There will always be new patterned paper pads to play with😄

Love these pages and the colours too and who can resist gold? Wanted to ask what you used on the shells first up before you sprayed them. Has a very art deco look!😊

Thank you😃 I could add gold to every page! For the resist I added Ranger Distress Micro Glaze (basically a mixture of petroleum jelly and alcohol). Love this product.

This is adorable. I`m really mad at the 1.7 viewers who didn`t press the Like button. Considering how confidently and cleanly you work, you could easily use gold foil like Klimt. Did you try embossing directly on the gold marker without using the embossing ink marker? It could save you one step. I don`t quite understand why you`re using the gold marker before embossing with the golden powder. Thank you for the wonderful inspiration and for showing something different/new💖

I used the gold marker to start but didn't like the coverage. It wasn't gold enough. The reason I still kept using the gold paint marker was because the ink used underneath is water reactive so my thought process at the time was to seal it otherwise the ink would activate and get all over my embossing ink pen. I will try next time to add the embossing powder onto the paint pen but I think it dries too fast. Speaking of gold foil, after I finished this spread I ordered some sticky embossing powder and gold foil to try out! I have never used it before so I am excited about that:) Thank you for watching and commenting💚 Appreciate what you said too:)

@@pagesofanartjournal Gold leaves are certainly worth a try but with the right fluid for gold leaves. I observed that gold markers tend to oxidise over the years, and the gold becomes an oxidised turquoise green. I don`t trust gold Markers anymore. I use them for random things, not on projects that are worth preserving. Thank you, and see you next video❤

Very lovely page with my favorite colors. I have two questions. What is the book you're working on ? At the beginning I saw you spreading water on your ink pad, why ?

Thank you:) They are my favorite colors as well. I love questions....the book is the Dylusions Creative Journal in the size 8"x8". I have really enjoyed using this size and I love the paper in it. The liquid I sprayed on the ink pads is the Ranger Distress Ink Refresher. Whenever I use the Distress Oxide ink pads for background coverage it makes the pads "juicy" so that helps with the application.
