Maserati Quattro Porte, Ghibli and Levante cars became incredibly reliable from 2013 onwards, but you should not leave them parked. You should use them a lot because when you park luxury cars, advanced devices such as sensors and other things fail.

It is if it has been well maintained. Have a Prepurchase inspection done on the car unless it is a CPO car. That is always a good investment. Also try to get a service history from the Dealer redacting the previous owners personal info. That how I got mine.

If you do the all proper maintenance, oil changes every 5k to 6k miles, repair issues with OEM parts and do it right, performe regular inspections and correct issues as they arise, AND drive it a lot, put lots of miles on it, it will last.

I don’t think you did it right. I did suction method and pulled out 9.5 quarts! You need to use a hard plastic line. And insert it the exact length of the dip stick so the tubes ending is at the very bottom of the pan. Then I dump a half quart into the motor then suck that out also. Make sure you run the motor for 10 mins prior to extraction so the oil is mixed up also.
@JamesDIYGarage
@JamesDIYGarage 3 күн бұрын
I did. But I should straighten it out before I use it. It is coiled so it may not get a good angle to suck all the oil.out.

My 2014 Maserati Ghibli headlights are out. Do I need to take the bumper out to replace them?
@JamesDIYGarage
@JamesDIYGarage 3 күн бұрын
Yes. I would. I have seen videos that show how a guy did it without removing the bumper, but he cut some of the metal frame away to do it. That will rust out, and its as much a pain in the ars as removing the bumper. Watch my video on how to remove the bumper. After doing it a couple times, its easy and I can have the front bumper off in less than 10 minutes.

Hi James, I’ve owned a petrol Ghibli V6 3.0 from new since 2016 and have done 40,000miles. My aircon has stopped working. No cool function. I think it’s a condenser leak, as it can’t hold pressure. Could it be a connector instead? Or a degraded seal/seal pipe damaged? Does the front end need to be taken off to repair it?

Hello sir. I'm planning on buying a 2014 or 2015 Ghibli. My question is, if you maintain the car regularly and took care of it, you won’t face any major problems in the engine or transmission etc. ? Will it be reliable if you took care of it? Thanks sir.
@JamesDIYGarage
@JamesDIYGarage Ай бұрын
Depends on how well it was maintained by the previous owners. Check maintenance history before you buy. Having said that, mine had a good maintenance history, and I have regularly serviced the oil and oil filter every 5k miles. My Ghibli now has 99k miles on it and it runs like new. If you watch all my videos you will see what I had to do to keep her running like new.

I broke the locking clip on mine trying to get it off. But it is a tight fit on the new sensor, and its seated vertical with the connector upright, so between gravity and the tight fit, it should stay there.

Hello James, i had same issue with my Maserati Ghibli 2015 Q4. I changed the knock sensors, Oil pump and the oil sensor but still the pressure is below almost null. I’ve checked the engine oil and was perfectly sparks. What else can be done😢😢😢😢
@JamesDIYGarage
@JamesDIYGarage Ай бұрын
By "Sparks" I hope you are not referring to metallic glitter in the oil. If so the engine is bad. Need a new engine. If not then do this, while engine is running, remove the oil filler cap. If you see oil splashing around in there, and even coming out of the oil filler hole, then you have good oil pressure. Have the oil pressure sensor system diagnosed by a tech. If you don't see oil moving around in there, shut the engine down. Replace the oil filter and try again.
