@GenesCustoms.
@GenesCustoms. 27 күн бұрын
Actually it works great. To break down the mount I just loosen the 3/8 knob at the bottom of my pier extension. The reason I added the AM5 extension is to utilize the swivel assembly that would have come with an AM5 tripod that I didn't purchase or need.

Which model IR air compressor do you have, and how has it been.....would you recommend it? Thanks

Hello. I have a -Ingersoll Rand Type-30 Reciprocating Air Compressor (Fully Packaged) - 7.5 HP, 230 Volt 1 Phase, Model Number 2475N7.5-P- that I purchased on Amazon and I love it. It is perfect for what I do. It's a little loud for this small garage, but not bad unless you are standing next to it. Yes I would recommend. It doesn't leak, only run less than once a week!. It has an electric auto-drain on a timer so it drains the water. You can set the timer. When I first got it the drain would pop off and startle me lol. I put a coffee can full of nylon kitchen scrubbers, poked a hole in it and ran the outlet of the garage into the plastic coffee container, it muffles the noise and drains outside. Anyways works great. Go for it!

i read an article a while back regarding fuel line. i cannot for the life of me remember where i read it, but it mentioned some of the fuel lines that are made in, shall we say, less than ideal countries where QC is nonexistant. it said that some inferior lines are not compatible with our fuel / ethanol mix (even tho the seller says it is compatible) and can fail in a catastrophic way. it fails in the entire length of the line sometimes. this video reminded me of that article (it could have possibly been a video i saw instead of an article). i apologize if i've jumped ahead, but i figured this might be of some value to you or other builders. do you know the origin of the line that you bought?
@GenesCustoms.
@GenesCustoms. 4 ай бұрын
Thanks for the comments. I have also read that for modern gasoline PTFE-lined fuel lines should be used. I installed the fuel line on my truck years ago. I had no idea that I should use this type of line. I just bought some AN line and slapped it in there. Live and learn.

Question the return bung doesn’t need a hose to go to the bottom of the tank so it won’t cause aeration? And is the vent bung just left as is? I’m doing this on a 63 Belair wagon.
@GenesCustoms.
@GenesCustoms. 5 ай бұрын
I have read that the return line goes down in the tank and I have read that the return line doesn't go down in the tank. So I did it this way, no line down in the tank. For the vent I ran a 90 degree fitting from the bung to a rubber hose and attached a filter to it, tried to keep the filter and hose high as I could so it wouldn't siphon. It was a PAIN IN THE ASS!, because there is very little room to connect the hoses. I may have to drop the tank and see if I can come up with a better solution. Good luck and let me know if you come up with a better idea.

@GenesCustoms.
@GenesCustoms. 6 ай бұрын
Hi. Thanks for checking out my videos. I guess I see why you mention that, but with the cups and bags installed the rear end goes all of the way up to the bump stop. From what I can tell shortening the cup won't gain you anything. If you modify the bump stop or use shorter ones you ca gain an inch or so, but if you do that you will need to cut a new hole for the air line to make them come out at a different angle or they will hit the rear end. If I may suggest, mock them up and run the rear end through its travel before you decide to cut the cup. Have fun!

Hello. Thanks for checking out my videos. There is a bunch of stuff that has to come off if you are going to remove the whole clip. I'll ty to list them from memory, but I'm sure I'll for get something: Yes remove the bumper. Fenders bolts; one each inside in the door jam, two each on the top of the firewall, I think you have to remove the fender braces, (mine were missing when I got the car). Remove the bottom bolts on the core support to frame. Various wiring; headlights, turn signals, horn, etc. You may have to just try this much and then play detective to see if you have them all. You don't need to go past the bottom plate with the threaded rod . Just drill the plate and bolt it to the pier .that way you still have mobility
@GenesCustoms.
@GenesCustoms. 10 ай бұрын
Well I thought about that, but the ZWO160mm extension is not threaded so I would have had to make another plate to bolt it to then bolt the extension down to my original pier. This was easier, but I may still do that later.

(1) what does the deck look like and how is the shed attached to it...I live in a very windy area and need to make sure it's secured. (2) How are the rails attached inside the shed and what kind of rails/wheels did you use? (3) what shed is that? Again, awesome job! A few; the wiring for the turn signals have grommets in the extensions that are a pain. I had a hard time with the bolts on the lower extensions. I suggest a ton of PB Blaster and let it soak. If you can find a way of getting it up in the air after you pull the whole clip off. Maybe on saw horses or something it will help with those nuts and bolts on the bottom. Once you have the fenders and the inner fenders off take some pics so you know how the core support braces, grill and braces etc. will go back together. If I think of anything else I'll edit this. Good luck. It's kinda cool to pull the whole front clip off all at once.
