Hi, i think my white metal thing that goes around the airbag is a bit bent/damaged and recently my steering wheel has more wiggle room and is more to the left, although car tires were aligned perfectly - could that come from that white metal? what can i do?

So you moved the spacer that was behind the top washer to in front? And use the long nut touching the top washer? More preload? I’m going to try this but wanted to check. I just can’t get 100% comfortable with the VRS pedals :(. Left knee cartilage and strength issues I’m battling constantly. The pedals are amazing, but I just can’t get balance right for endurance races. Hot lap pace is good.

Nice thanks for this. You can also use simple rings instead of the custom tool, same principle works well too.

You can also use it without the homemade tool. Just use a flat washer the same diameter as the nut head. This way you can easily see if it's seated flush all around as you're tightening it down. Plus this way you don't need to try to hold 3 things at once.

Thanks, great explanation, I just shaved off 0.6 seconds in the first session right after watching this video. It seems like I wasn’t pushing my tyres enough. I was always scared of this “scrubbing” noise and thought it meant my tyres were sliding so I’d lost time. Now it’s much better. Thank you!

I do oven cleaning and repairs. Have found rivet nuts useful where some of the screw mount holes for the back panels or element have corroded. One of the original videos I saw for seating rivet nuts was using a nut, bolt and washers to set the rivet nuts. Only problem I was having was that the rivet nut was sometimes rotating when trying to tighten. They have a grip profile on the side but rivet nuts but they dont always stop the nut rotating. Love this shaped piece of metal with the hole which will stop the nut rotating. Unfortunately I failed trying to seat 2 rivet nuts yesterday wasting over 1 hour, and spent out on a tool. Will make up a couple of these metal profiles at the weekend. Thanks for this brilliant tip Smoking Steel Garage.

I noticed your braking is always around the 60-70% marker. Is this down to you and your feel of the brake, or have you set something in the software to be at max pressure 80% for instance? Cheers

A thrust bearing would reduce the work required better than a brass washer as so many people suggest. Even better, spend a few quid and buy the tool for the job 😂

Lowe’s has a little set up that you can use your drill for maybe less than $5 bucks. This is to much trouble. I picked up a Wetols nut tool several years ago for $ 26 still working great and a lot less hassle. Have faith in America.

Hi. Sorry for late reply. You need to adjust the adjuster I can't check the length I had as the pedals and all my gear are currently in a 40ft container 😞 If memory serves correct it might be 32mm from the locknut to locknut. But I can't be sure. However have a play with the adjuster bar, it makes a lot of difference. Take note of the length before you adjust and then try it set longer and shorter until you find a sweet spot you like. Hope that helps. Thanks for the message. And we will be back soon. Just moving country!

Am building a kit plane. Thanks for this info plus comment about brass washers. Rivnuts very useful items where you can't get a spanner behind to do up or undo the nut that holds the bolt. Thus you can secure a piece of equipment such as an instrument to a sheet of metal and it is then very easy to take it off and put back when required for servicing etc.

Im currently in the process of upgrading my headphones. I previously had the wireless USB/bluetooth "Stealth 600 Gen2's" (Turtle Beach). Just last week I purchased the DT770 Pro's (80ohm). According to my research, these are the best sounding studio quality headphones one can purchase in the $150-$200 price range. I had to buy an AMP to get adequate volume from them so I bought the EK10 DAC/AMP combo by FiiO to power them which made a huge difference. However, I swear that I'm hearing a decent amount of noise/distortion in iracing. Dialing down the engine sound in iracing does help but I'm still bothered by the but of distortion I can hear. My question is - Is this little bit of poppy distortion normal in iracing or should I choose a different pair of headphones rather than the Beyerdynamic DT770's? What are you running? I would greatly appreciate any feedback. Thank you!

it looks like you were experiencing the limitations of elastomers, where you see the peak and then the drop off. Great to see the data that the VRS eliminates this, will definitely be getting the VRS pedals since i'm a bit fed up the same way you are about the annoying brake drop off.

Keep in mind, that the VRS software has much more improved in those 3 years, as from what i've heard in the Boosted Media revisit of their wheel base and read on Reddit.
