I think the original museum upgrade in new horizons (the brown one before you gain access to the version with the art collection) was made inaccessible in the 2.0 update. Now it just auto upgrades to the second version of the museum, tho if you started on a previous game version you can still keep the old museum as long as you never upgrade to the art gallery

Don’t forget about those 2 cats that would be in ur town and u would have to reunite them in ur friends town to get a item from them

For Wild World and City Folk's wifi restrictions, there are very easy ways to get online play working for both of these games, specifically the Wiimmfi service. This service allows you to get some of the items that were distributed via wifi too! While not "official", it's as close to the original experience of playing the games online as you're going to get. And for New Leaf, while we'll have to wait a bit for wifi revival services like the DS and Wii have, Pretendo is doing a pretty good job of getting games up and running on the 3ds and Wii U, however I dont think they've started on Animal Crossing just yet.

One thing I miss is the sick villages in New Leaf. For some reason the welcome amiibo update made villagers never get sick.

Remember folks. It may seem like cheating, but there's nothing wrong with using unofficial methods to reinstate online functionality to your older systems. There are many games where online exclusive items are able to be distributed again in all number of ways.

Advice- reduce the frequency of "actually" because it makes the video hard to watch once you start hearing it. Dont believe me? Its like the game. Now that you've lost you continue to hear it and cringe in anticipation as you go from listening to the content to listening for the inevitable "actually drop".

New horizons technically has some (almost) lost content. One of the later updates to the game (either the diving, farming, or Happy home designer updates) removed access to a few of the special island tour islands like the really cool rare flower island. It's now impossible to visit those old islands legitimately unless you buy a new switch, or factory reset your current switch and start a new game without updating. This is because the switch knows if you delete a game update, and will refuse to launch the game until you re-download the update. And the only way to make your switch forget without hacking it is to factory reset it and wipe everything.

As a kid that grew up playing Ice Climbers on the NES, if I'd have received that from my transferred save I'd be wondering what I did to anger Nintendo

Thanks for the amazing and indepth content, Hunter. I will always be critical of New Horizons for one singular reason: Happy Home Designer has less features but more variety than New Horizons. Animations upon interacting with furniture is equally just as welcome as free placement of Furniture outdoors that I am very heartbroken will always be locked to just Happy Home Designer... the simple idea of "being able to interact with your furniture" and more engagement with your villagers and buildings around the town is such a simple yet phenomenal idea. For a new entry in the series building upon the previous game, it sure lacks a lot of the original base. The DLC doesn't even have some of the features the 3DS game does. And keep in mind: Happy Home Designer was a spin-off, that was lower in scope, but still somehow outperformed New Horizons, and it's DLC.

another downside to city folk losing online connectivity to other towns is that katie is no longer able to be found crying in your town, and you won’t be able to escort her back to her mother kaitlin in your friend’s town. :(
