Kelso is considered a sun down town. If you are not white. Stay the hell out of Kelso. Recently a black man who was on a work assignment was murdered. A lot of murderous Bigots in Kelso. I recently went to look at a rental property in Longview, but after hearing about the man who was murdered only because of his skin color. We decided to pass. You have to go through Kelso to get to Longview.. I definitely would not recommend this town.

Instead of In-N-Out Burger I would rather see the first Culver's in the PNW which is from Wisconsin with concrete mixers, similar to DQ Blizzards, but they also have Wisconsin cheese curds as well and there burgers are awesome. I would also love to see either a Texas Roadhouse in the area or a Longhorn Steakhouse knowing the closest one to us is in Boise Idaho, either way we need a good high quality steakhouse in the area and maybe a WingStop as well.

Sadie and Josie's Bakery right up the hill from the first round about is amazing! I also hope to try the local Gorilla Burgers here soon, I hear there awesome! I wonder if the city has ever thought about some kind of indoor/outdoor gun and archery business with skeet and trap shooting in that area knowing its such an outdoorsy small town?

I love roundabouts! Why do people not like them? They eliminate stopping at red lights, you can drive right through intersections smoothly....if people navigate them correctly. My gripe with them is people who STOP when entering when there's no car entering where they are. They'll actually stop and wait for a car that enters the roundabout after they do. Most people do well through them, and if folks would learn how to navigate them they'd be even more wonderful.

Vancouver is mostly a dump, we avoid it unless we need to make a run to a store that isn’t anywhere else. I used to ride my bike through Vancouver often, but most trails have been taken over by homeless and feel unsafe. Portland spreads like a cancer and Vancouver is its latest casualty.

I am relocating to the PNW to take a job at PDX. I have no clue to even begin to know where to look for a reasonable priced apartment or what is a hood or sketchy area.

Longview/Kelso is certainly not the worst place to live, but, to be brutally honest, the place is kind of depressing and boring. Just not a lot going on there, culturally.

Lets talk about the air. I moved there 6 years ago. Healthy as a horse. Not so healthy now. I was diagnosed with COPD 3 years after moving here. Yes i smoked, i had been smoke free 10+ years PRIOR to moving here. Those mills pump some smelly stuff about once a week. It came on slowly. Ive since moved back to N. Cal. I can breath again, i can climb staires again. DONT MOVE TO LV OR KELSO. Im telling u what ever they are pumping into the air there is harmful to humans.

Moving to Vancouver has been horrible, I regret it everyday and am moving far away in 3 months. Lasting that much longer is painful.

Take a look at the future parks and trails the city of Ridgefield has planned. The goal is to have all these developments connected with trails and walking paths. Plus new parks are on their way! City planners are doing a nice job.

In the past 10 years Vancouver has been over ran by bums and tweakers. Highway 99 and Hazeldell has historically always been sketchy due to I5 and the criminals that use that as an artery to run drugs and other nefarious activities. As well as 4th plain, Andreson from 205 to I 5 area due to high concentration of tweakers wackos. Drug gangs seem to have surged in the past 5 years. Increase of hispanic gang grafiti. My experience having grown up in Southern California and stationed in South Mississippi for 6 years is that i never experienced any property crime in those 2 areas or any other unsafe situation. I moved to Vancouver to be close to family in 2013. And had been a vicim of property crime 2 times and even had to draw my weapon to stop an attack and luckily did not have to discharge it. Aggressive and unsafe drivers are more abundant here than the 2 places i have lived. Also i live in a decent part of Vancouver and my friend lives a street down and someone tried to steal his construction van. Tweakers know when recycling day is and rifle through the containers to get soda cans which is a crime regardless of how anyone feels about it. (No bottle deposit in WA bums take them to oregon to commit fraud) . And todays bums or what people say "unhoused " or "housing impaired ' are more aggressive and dangerous than what people think. They are not just normal people on hard times. The simple presence of them in your neighborhood poses a signifcant health risk to you and your family. My family and i are leaving the state of WA due to this and unconstitutional laws passed by the government of WA.
