I have the same kit. I'm in the process of researching buying a different glue. I don't think the problem is the kit. It's nothing but tools. The tools seem ok. I think the glue and pull tabs is what really matters. It's doing the hard work. There's things to cheap out on and things you can't. I'll let you know how it goes and what I order. I may order a couple nice tabs for the hell of it.

i used Sonax for my wheels, my land rover had a lot of dusk brake that was very difficult to remove with other brands. it performed better than many brands. also for my tires, a purple industrial degreaser that i get in Walmart. better than anything that i get in AutoZone.

I've owned many used cars in the past 30 yrs and never had engine failure changing oil around 7k miles. I use full synthetic all the time. I think changing the oil ever 3..5k is a waste of money. I'm sure it's good for the engine, but not your wallet.

@billwalck1324
@billwalck1324 13 күн бұрын
just started with a hail-damaged Honda. What I have found so far is let the glue gun get good and hot. Increased fluidity allows a thinner glue joint, which seems to work better. Clean your pull-pins with the same iso-alcohol, gives better adhesion. Don't be in a hurry, or heavy-handed. The slow subtle approach appears to work better. I find that looking at the reflection on the areas adjacent to the pull area gives a better assessment of the applied force and apply small movements, really small movements. Hold the tension for a few moments and then relax and re-apply. Gradually increase the pull and hold, increase the pull and hold, and try to note the point where the glue fractures. once you get a "feel" for how far you can pull it, stop just short and hold that tension with the adjusting screw on the top of the plier tool and leave for a little time. The increase the tension until the pin pops off. If done properly, the glue film fractures and leaves residue on the dent and the pin. Apply a little more glue on the pin (do not remove the old glue if well adhered) and place the pin a little closer to the edge of the dent and go again to coax the dent out. 4 or 5 tries should produce significant improvement. I got 5 or 6 dents in a little over an hour, so I now understand why the vehicle was totaled. It is very time intensive, only several dozen to go. Now I am beginning to understand why Arthur Tussick appears to take inordinately long on apparently simple repairs, and I am only going for OK and he is going for perfect.

I did what you did with the contact and it work. My question is did the owner of that truck have an issue with the cruise control? I can't get mine to work and I agree with you I don't want to over size the hole and destroy the hydro boos. I bought a new brake sensor and still no cruise control. Any thought?
@andersonsgarage2334

My car ran cooler, gave me coolant too cool code. About a week of this and she got harder to start. Today was cool damp morning. Poof, multicylinder misfire. Thermostat killed the ignition module. Driving habits greatly effect the o/c intervals. I have an '18 Tundra with 102,xxx on the odo and the idiot light just popped on at its 5,000 mark. I checked the oil level and it's still full and golden brown, indicative of the oil and filter doing their jobs. I'll go to about 7,500 and check it again. Its been dealer serviced since birth, so I don't mind going the extra 2,500 miles to test the condition. My habits of driving are highway/open roads, allowing the oil to fully warm up to disperse any condensation. So yep, I think I'll go a bit longer on my intervals

2000 mile oil change intervals (Every 2 and half months) on a 2023 Honda Civic Si with the L15CA. Constant short trips with stop and go traffic driven aggressively to redline on a daily in Normal Drive Mode after the blue idiot light goes away. 16 something thousand miles, no problems. Given it is still a new car but hey! Even new cars can break down early if mishandled under the conditions they operate in.

As a young man in the 80s I didn't have $ but I did have time and energy to spare. I waxed my car every week or 2 and enjoyed it for the most part. I used turtlewax paste, liquid and NuFinish. Now in my 50s I have a lil more $ and a lot less energy... I have no desire to wax and buff 12+ times a year. I applied a 2 yr ceramic sealant to my truck and will also use TW ceramic mist as a drying aid every couple of washes. My truck is super hydrophobic, candy like gloss and stays cleaner longer.
