Sir, your horse's hind end is out behind like a caboose; if you didn't have good moving horses you would be riding 4s. Learn to help them raise their shoulder by stepping up from behind and stop riding them behind the bridle. Your current riding is the kind that breaks the horse down. You need to build him up. Edit: Also, why is your browband stuck up and pinching your horses ear? That is just sloppy. He was better after the canterwork

Your lovely horse is behind the vertical constantly and needs to go more forward from your leg to the hand. This a faulty work and you are breaking the horse down. Disappointing.

If horse is 3yo and have a lot of energy, is it correct to let him release his energy and then start to work under control like you at the beginning of lounge?

Was looking for an inhand video- as in working from ground with a cavesson for gentle guiding to teach piaffe- which to my understanding is helping the horse to balance equally on all 4 legs without RESTRICTIONS. Am super disappointed that there are still videos- and blind followers who are excited to MAKE a horse do movements while being restricted in the head (horse can't even open his mouth). True dressage= classical dressage would NEVER put a horse in a static frame - restricting flow from front to back- and therefore no TRuE back to front. Modern dressage- as you are performing is a perversion of classical teachings of FREE movements. I know you are convinced your way is the best way...but as you said at beginning of video- find out the source. Who were your teachers? I loath "instructors" who have memorized movements forced onto the horse which they have acquired ages ago and stopped evolving. So sad. Are you aware that your horse is behind the vertical? Are you aware how your horse is breathing ( and how would you know?) Are you aware that it does not take two bits to teach piaffe intro from ground? Suggesting Heuschman books! Read, study, think and than you will understand- nit just copy something you learned from who knows

I’m sorry, way too much hand in front! The position of the head is important! If correct biomechanic principles are applied you’re not pulling back and holding so much in the front, but letting the neck stretch out and down so the back comes up. You are stopping your horse with your hands and pulling backwards. You’re going against every principle of classic dressage! Everything you are doing in this video, even though I have not finished watching it is not eliciting any relaxation.

Wow! I really loved this video. You are so inspirational rider who's having an open mind to explore new things to develop equine welfare ❤️ We could get so much more new knowledge by utilizing technology. Your experiments are great examples of a rider who is interested to develop own horse by exploring new methods. This surely will reflect on horse's physical and mental health and that way build strong, happy and durable horses. You are a 💎!

Thank you for this. I'm currently struggling with my mare - who does know how to do changes! But she has decided that left-right change won't be happening. I think I will try this counter-canter exercise with her and see if it helps. I have a dodgy right hip so maybe that isn't helping. Lovely horse, lovely riding btw.
