The dictation engine is fantastic when it works, but Dragon 15.6 and 16.2 is so unreliable at my workplace, its become unusallble. I look online and I found I am not alone. Are there any fixes for all the bugs? It crashes all the time.

Thanks so much for these videos. I have a RSI and really seeking advice. My legs can tire easily from hip issues so trying to see what is best and what’s possible. I for sure can’t use my arms tho ie stylus; is this the only mouse available to use with legs or feet?

When I say "click link" it just opens up the dictation box and puts the words "click link" in there instead of actually allowing me to click any of the browser links! It does this with other commands too, including "Switch to Microsoft edge." I have it set to Normal Mode.

Is it possible to dictate manually with the keyboard while you speak? I find that punctuating with your voice breaks the flow.

I feel ya bro, got the same issues but in both arms neck and back, I'm doing way better now and I can even play games with lil discomfort(not for long hours tho) you should check out the Wim Hof method and improve your diet as well if you haven't, you know more healthy natural animal protein like eggs, liver, fish and milk.

I think this software is not for me. I want to use it as an individual to dictate things in Word. I will be using the Word Dictate version supported by Microsoft Copilot. The pricing of Dragon Naturally Speaking has an insane price for home usage when you only use it for dictation. It is wonderful for professionals and for people with disabilities.

Can Dragon transcribe non-english speech?

I don't know what it is, I've been using this software for over a year, and certain words no matter how many times I try to correct them and train them, words that I use 200+ times a day, and yet it still hasn't learned them and gets them completely wrong every time

My solution for getting rid of RSI, besides using Naturally Speaking, was taking B12 and regular exercise, to increase blood flow

My PC has has a guerilla taking-place war inside it since Microsoft Edge became a mandatory, non-uninstallable component of MS Windows. Nuance PDF Converter became harder and harder to load, and now it has ceased working altogether. An attempt to reinstall it from the software disc I purchased for £100 some twelve years ago, now results in a failure to load, due to 'cyclical redundancy', which, I think, is corporate terminology, rather than a technical term. I am also having trouble with Abby Finereader 12, also purchased twelve years ago (for about £50) and which now tells me that my licence has expired and invites me to purchase an annually-renewable contract. If Microsoft were anything other than an a U.S.A.- owned company it would have been regulated by anti-competition laws by now. The USA is now 'onto' the Chinese; but, I can see that it could be accused of failing to put it's own house in order in the matter of creeping worldwide domination, control and surveillance.

If Microsoft had their own social media platform, instead of kicking people off, they would just have the algorithm block unwanted content, and for spam they would have a feature that would allow you to be investigated further

thank you. i'm learning how to use my dragon stenomask. supporting your voice with your diaphragm and lifting your soft palate both prevent fatigue.

It is not that easy if you have foreign accent.

thanks for sharing your story. I'm on the same situation now for almost 4 years with same timeline as yours when the symptoms started. First I was diagnosed as CTS on EMG then after 2 years got another nerve test it came out negative until 2023 but the symptoms was still there. I'm on & off at work. I'm not sure if surgery will work since the rehab doctor found out I have issues too on my pronator teres.

That's really unfortunate :( I was also looking into this and the surf mouse, thanks for covering updates. by the way you might look into eye tracking for mouse movement, I've been using that and it's pretty effective (talon has built in support, but there are probably other solutions too), but I would still love a foot solution... I also tried a wii balance board but I could never properly get to pair to my PC

*Scroll to bottom of this message for update* Greetings My RSI Life, I started to experience the same issue yesterday with my 3drudder. The dashboard would not stay open, but the device would beep and boop when I placed my feet on it or when the computer would start up. Also, when I open the 3dRudderLiveViewer tool I could see that device was in fact working in the live viewer mode, you could see the device reacting to my foot positioning. it would crash with the dashboard showing up for a few seconds, followed by it closing. I uninstalled multiple times to no avail. I was getting ready to reformat my PC when I decided to explore a bit more. I went to C: > Program Files (x86) > 3dRudder > 3dRudderDashboard > 3dRudderTutorial, then opened the Initiation3dRudder application. I completed the entire tutorial, closed it out and and ran the dashboard, viola! I was able to use the dashboard. It may just be a freak coincidence, but I am now playing my games with the 3drudder as my keyboard once more. I am nervous that it will most likely stop working once the computer restarts or I have to shut down. I will come back and update this post once I am forced to close out the 3dRudder dashboard, for whatever reason that may be. *Unfortunately, it was a freak coincident that my dashboard worked. I had to restart my PC and the dashboard would NOT open again. I decided to install and use AntiMicroX and it is working well. The AntiMicroX dashboard is not as in-depth or good as the 3dRudder, but there is no other choice at the moment.*

Great video! I really need this as I'm new to using Dragon and speech to text in general. Has anyone done a video on transitioning from keyboarding to speech to text? I found it to be quite a mental shift. A couple of things I find challenging with Dragon: - it crashes a lot - the Outlook add-in fails a lot - in apps where dictation boxes needed, transfer works about 50% of the time - the browser extensions are uninstalled overnight, probably due to a company policy, but I'm not sure what to ask for - Nuance has done a terrible job providing training for new users and I'm really not sure how to get support for technical difficulties Even with all that in mind, the accuracy is mind blowing compared to the building Windows/Microsoft options. I hope that I can work through most of these issues relatively quickly. Before I lose patience. I wish I could download all of your content into my brain!

Mic suggestions: I have both the OpenComm2 UC mic by Shokz [wireless] and the Sony WH-XB910N [also wireless]. The Sony is better for Dragon recognition by a very small margin but the Shokz bone-conduction mic is incredably light st only 28grams. It has the added advantage you can hear external sounds [no ear plugs!]. Mic has good sound canceling. The Shokz can be comfortably worn all day and has an excellent all-day battery life. Regretably, neither of these mics come cheap but, like always, you get what you pay for. However, neither are they disastrously expensive either. If you're doing Dragon [I'm using Pro16] and can afford only one mic, my suggestion is go for the Shokz. I hope this helps everybody. 😊

Dude - love the video! I used Dragon 15 for some months back in 2019, and it was a bit of a life-saver to be able to still do my work at work (so to speak). I was just wondering about upgrading to Dragon 16, but after a bit of searching I've found Windows 11 has a feature called "Voice Access", I've just tried it and it looks like they've pinched a lot of stuff from Dragon (!). It is free in Windows 11 which is kind of amazing. It does control and dictation. The only bummer so far is that it looks a little slow in its response, which may grind after a while, but give it a try! (sorry - long post!)
